I have been working at Schneider full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great advancement opportunities with training options throughout the company. Many opportunities for travel as well. Degree aren't required and on the job training is a bonus.

    Cons

Entry-level is typically half of most companies new hires. The positions are 3rd party meaning you work for the company, but physically work for another account.

    Advice to Management

    Open communication is a must.

    Pros

New to logistics. Had no experience, but took a chance and hired me. I learned a lot in this position. Good people.

    Cons

Customer contract ended. Unfortunately had to find another job. Nothing else really bad about the position, just wish that I could have moved on to other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Schneider full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-Excellent company culture with many experienced and friendly employees.
-Schneider offers a flexible work schedule and work from home opportunities if needed.
-Schneider provides the opportunity to work and gain experience in multiple departments of the Logistics field.

    Cons

    - Company favors the corporate location in Green Bay above all other locations. This applies to your year end bonus as well.
    - External departments favor accounts with highest revenue first which often results in power struggles and lack of support.
    - Senior leadership tends to lean on mid level managers to take responsibility for unavoidable issues to avoid losing face with the customers.

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership needs to offer better support to mid level management

    Pros

    Lots of experience opportunities
    Good colleagues
    Focus on safety
Commitment to dollars earned, not service level or commitments

    Cons

Low pay, big hairy goals with no infrastructure or processes to support

    Pros

Working at Schneider overall has been a good experience for me. I have gained much valued experience in different areas of supply Chain.

    Cons

There are a lot of politics that go on and promotions do not seem to be all that fair. There are also other challenges being on site with our customer GMCCA in Grand Blanc.

    Advice to Management

Be more fair in hiring in promotions and reward people for hard work. Quick with all the politics and unnecessary movements.

    Pros

They are a very close net company and they do offer a lot of training. I did like the fact that sli was not arraid to allow training access to everyone

    Cons

This is a very Clique type of company. Some people where over looked for promotions if you didnt hang out with the right clique. They where not fair in the FMLA process. Some people are allowed to go on leave and return to their positions but if you where not aprat of the clique than they can and will fire you.

    Advice to Management

Offer some fairness to employees. If you have a policy in place make sure that it is fair and that all employees are able to exercise their rights. Employees shoud not have to be apart of the in crowd or clique to get ahead at Schneider. Also you need some people to look in to the racial and gender aspects at SLI. Schneider is a very bias compoany against women and minorites.
