I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very good environment for engineers . Extremely well educated and professional senior engineers.

    Cons

No room for grow. " Is not matter what you know is matter who you know "-mantra , is well applied at this company.

    Advice to Management

When you promote people with degrees in History as business analyst and hire people with background in bartendering in engineering department, only to fit your gender equality ( women especially) politics, how you expect business to work? Company became more a political experiment background than a business oriented background.

    Pros

Hands on, interesting work. Challenging and rewarding.

    Cons

Takes a long while to be hired permanently.

    Advice to Management

Hire your good employees that know what they are doing and don't make them wait 3, 4, or 5 years for a permanent position. Don't replace your good employees with new hires that don't have a clue, coming from candy factories and have no experience-clueless.

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Coworkers seem like family. We work well together as a TEAM.

    Cons

Forecasts.....we tend to "live on the edge" not knowing what orders are coming. We take on more orders that we can make within customer specified time.

    Advice to Management

Replace OS Manager. Please get someone that can truly forecast orders.

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

401k, health reimbursement, good people to work with if not upper management level, training courses.

    Cons

Upper management is also overseeing and micromanaging the situation. There is no trust in there employees and will be continuously checked up on. Never left to complete tasks before moving on the the next job assignments. Parts are always a issue in all the facilities. Hard to deal with suppliers due to supply chain planning always searching for orders and volume due to not being constant work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees and people that surround your. Do not micromanage

Former Employee - National Account Manager in Tualatin, OR

    Pros

Not much is expected of the employees. If you are looking for stability in your day to day, this place is for you! Complacency thrives here!

    Cons

Complacency thrives here. The company is way too conservative. They react rather than innovate. The company has way too many processes in place to make an impact or come up with fresh ideas. EVERY action requires meetings after meetings

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to fail. The one good idea could propel you to the top. Evaluate the employees that have been there for way too long and get rid of the non-performers

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Employee friendly company, lots of training oppurtinities, international relationships, challenging tasks, personal development is possible, good salary for office workers compare to other companies

    Cons

Not always clearified targets, rapidly changing directions throughout the years based on actual manager ideas, lower level of 'standardization' compare to automotive companies

    Advice to Management

No special issues- A little more 'real' attention to employees, a little bit closer 'contact' with production and 'real life', more effective meeting techniques to speed up projects, time management
