    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Benefits were the main reason I took this job. They were cream of the crop. I was given valuable information that taught me alot about the transportation industry.

    Cons

Management harrased you, invaded your space/privacy, and sent out 100's of emails daily updating numbers and dumb racey pictures that they found amusing. For being as micro-managed as it was, one thing the management lacked was respect for employees. This place had no open-door policy for employees to vent without every manager knowing your business and then making things personal. Managers had clicks like high school, gave away accounts to their "drinking buddies", and if they didn't like you personally; they'd find a way to fire you by raising your numbers to where they were unattainable.
Now talking money...Their incentive program would pay out quarterly. Once you attain $35,000 in margin in a quarter, they would then pay you 10% for margin after that, not including. That would then get taxed at 40% leaving you with peanuts. Nuff Said.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for an experience of a lifetime.

    Pros

Good medical insurance, they will train new drivers dependent on economy. Cafeteria in Fontana has excellent food but high prices.

    Cons

Poor unsafe old equipment, management pretends to push safety. Poor unfair compensation schemes always changing. Avoid employment and/or investment, don't walk - run.

    Advice to Management

Schneider National once attracted top quality safe drivers and had an excellent reputation nationwide but this has all gone since Don Schneider retired.

    Pros

Good benefits and great time off. The company is located in a great area of the county with a good commute.

    Cons

The worst management in Savannah. You will be forced to do more work than you can handle and driven like a slave!

    Advice to Management

GO back to Green Bay. This company will drive you to a nervous breakdown. No matter how desperate you are for a job you do not want to work here!

    Pros

They are good with giving you time off when you need it and some supervisors know what they are doing.

    Cons

There is no room for advancement, the insurance cost is outrageous and really horrible, benefits are horrible, little to no training, they change the way things are done everyday and the employees get in trouble for it, they bring in temps and most of the time there are more temps working there then actual full time employees, very cheap company that doesn't look out for there employees.

    Advice to Management

Try to communicate every once and a while, that way the employees don't get in trouble for you always wanting to change the way things are done. Also maybe you should be nice to the employees and treat them like garbage.

I worked at Schneider full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Loved my first 5 years there... the last 5 years were awful and wiped out the positive experience gained in the first 5.

    Cons

Cliques. If you weren't in one... you didn't exist.

    Advice to Management

Get all of your managers in line with your advertised culture.

I worked at Schneider full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

After having this job, everything else I will do seems easy! Easy to network with individuals across the company.

    Cons

Huge work load, poor management and support at Dallas OC, no work/life balance, accountabilities include things that you can't control, requests are never followed up with, Oracle based software is not user friendly, no one that works in the division cares about anything but themselves (not a team environment)

    Advice to Management

Fire all management at the Dallas, TX division and get someone that actually can lead people. OM has a bad attitude/hard to get along with and will never step in to assist when short staffed; DM lacks knowledge on the software and never keeps his word on anything.

I have been working at Schneider full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Business model should improve as the economy improves. Company has potential for growth. Private held company provides some operational flexibility.

    Cons

New associates and new ideas are unwelcome. Company is too heads down on one large project to improve anywhere else. Many employees have left and many current employees are looking to leave in February 2013.

    Advice to Management

Put some leadership into Information Technology. Remove the politicians that are focused on themselves over the company's best interests.

I have been working at Schneider full-time

    Pros

Flexible shifts. 7-4, 8-5, 8:30-5:30. 6 days PTO annually, one week vacation bi-annually.

    Cons

Organizations is broken down into teams. If you aren't motivated by your team manager because they are too agressive, use offensive language, racial slurs, and inappropriate personal remarks don't think about switching. The workforce is very young, so it can be fun, but very immature!! In addition, their is no creativity to the job.

    Advice to Management

Your retention rate is terrible. 4 people left every month. Stop burning through them. Your first customer to keep happy is your workforce!
