    Pros

Great company with even greater values. As an intern, I felt valued--even as the only intern in my department. The employees are very friendly and welcoming, and truly want to help you learn the industry so that you can succeed in the future.

    Cons

The commute was a bit of a drag on the subway from the Bronx, but that's to be expected from the NYC MTA.

I worked at Scholastic as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working there and believe that the company has a good business model and works hard to make sure all books and children's products meet high standards.

    Cons

The offices are a bit drab and under construction so it felt a bit disorganized but understandable.

    Advice to Management

There are plenty of areas to make the company run more efficiently and that would get rid of redundancies. It would be great if they would invest in better technology and database management should be consolidated.

    Pros

Got to be involved in real work and the organized internship program. The pay was reasonable and I got to meet high up people in the company and learn about different scholastic opportunities

    Cons

Wish it was longer - wish there was more intern interaction. Would have appreciated a clear offer back or more guidance as it is my last internship before graduation

I worked at Scholastic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The operations manager sat in on meetings before work once a week to listen to issues and corrected them quickly. Often times the managers bring in food for employees to boost morale.

    Cons

Not too many cons, although the night shift should begin earlier instead of working till 2am some nights.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to employees and also provide more work opportunities during the summer.
