I have been working at Schwan's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you're just getting your feet wet when it comes to working out of college or you've fallen in hard times and need a solid income.

    Cons

This might be Manager specific but it does not seem this way.

    - Lack of official GMPs for new hires to go over.
    - High turnover in key positions thus leading to a lot errors for new people who haven't a clue of what to do.
    - Lack of actual on the job training.
    - Views the new CEO as some sort of cult leader.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your old blood that is siphoning the good energy from new hires by preventing innovation within the company.

I have been working at Schwan's as a contractor

    Pros

Some supervisors are understanding and open to talking to people.

    Cons

Some supervisors are rude and do not listen to the temps and they treats temps and contract workers like crap. Was declines a break several time already.

    Advice to Management

Put your supervisors through some sort of personality testing. In training and interviewing is one thing and in the field is another.

    Neutral Outlook

    I worked at Schwan's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was apart of the management team. The bonus structure for the upper-level managers and executives was really good.

    Cons

Bonus structure for warehouse managers was garbage. Constant decline year over year in sales. Cut-backs for hourly employees put strains on operating initiatives. Spread Warehouse managers to thin over multiple locations.

    Advice to Management

Review your business strategies. Stop working your people to the death. Stop worrying about if you're going to bonus and build the brand back to its glory days. You're just milking the company dry.
