    I worked at Schwan's full-time

    Pros

Company was full of people that wanted you to succeed and overall good people to hang out with outside of work

    Cons

Tough industry, I don't personally consider that a con but others did.

    I have been working at Schwan's full-time

    Pros

I like the hours, staying active and out and about while working, and being trusted to get the job done with little oversight.

    Cons

    The pay is just decent

I have been working at Schwan's as an intern

    Pros

Very supportive and collaborative work environment. Flexible on hours. Coming out of the turnaround there is a real zeal for the newly-established corporate culture and values. Leadership and team spirit are very important to this organization. Competitive pay for the food industry. Benefits from what I've seen from full-time employees are decent but not industry-leading.

    Cons

The product at the end of the day is still frozen food, with only a select few healthy product subcategories. The commute is also pretty long at least 45+ minutes (and sometimes over an hour) each way if you are not in Bloomington/Edina/Eden Prairie.

    Advice to Management

Good to see that Schwan's is trying so hard to develop young talent. I think the company has a lot of foresight in that regard. That talent will be needed in the pivot towards healthier ingredients and preparation of food that will be inevitable with the next generation. I really enjoyed my summer here and personally hope that Schwan's can make the pivot towards healthier options sooner rather then later.

    I have been working at Schwan's full-time

    Pros

Route sales representatives are given a decent amount of autonomy, getting paid to drive, discount on food from Schwan's, good team, commission

    Cons

The company is starting to make moves which may limit autonomy, long hours, commission, customer complaints go through call center instead of RSRs creating added bureaucracy

I have been working at Schwan's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is OK, People are nice. Management locally is great. Fast paced work environment. Management is very supportive.

    Cons

Long hours twelve to fourteen is average. Company is run like it is still the 1950's. Equipment is leased in most cases. While normally that wouldn't be bad but the company they lease from would rather band aid issues then really fix them. Tech support is a joke. Promote from within exists but they over look long time employees.
