I have been working at Schwan's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great dental and vision buy up plans

    Cons

Long hours, no life. Paid holidays require you to work saturday to make them up.

    Advice to Management

Daily rate should be about $30 a day higher. Listen to your customers, since without them you're going to go out of business.

    I worked at Schwan's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    They value great people.
Friendly R&D team. The company will offer opportunities to grow to hard working employees. Excellent benefits! Excellent work life balance!

    Cons

    Location - middle of nowhere!!
They do require you to pay for complete relocation cost & they make you sign the contract for relocation repayment when you join (if you leave them before end of your 2nd year you have to pay 100% relocation cost back).
Even in case, you have to leave the company for health or family reasons, you are stuck with the expense, ridiculous!!!!!!
They don't negotiate at all which is hard for employees.
    Constant restructuring in R&D, ridiculous!

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ideas! Marketing team needs to think outside the box.
Marketing group needs to support innovations in order to grow the business which is lacking at the moment.
Also, the business leaders are afraid to take risks to launch innovative and first of a kind products in the market.

    I worked at Schwan's full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I was apart of the management team. The bonus structure for the upper-level managers and executives was really good.

    Cons

Bonus structure for warehouse managers was garbage. Constant decline year over year in sales. Cut-backs for hourly employees put strains on operating initiatives. Spread Warehouse managers to thin over multiple locations.

    Advice to Management

Review your business strategies. Stop working your people to the death. Stop worrying about if you're going to bonus and build the brand back to its glory days. You're just milking the company dry.

    I worked at Schwan's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

driving alone, meeting some interesting folk. always different.

    Cons

Management, HR, and warehouse staff are horribly incompetent. it is an unsafe and unhealthy working environment. The fleet of trucks haven't been updated in a decade ar least. you are over worked and are expected a minimum of a 12hr day driving even though 10 is the legal limit. everything is smudged in the office setting, and if you dare bring it up your life becomes hell and you are strongarmed until you quit or they find a way to fire you. you will be harasses and yelled at til you mental want to break. It is far from the great company it once was when Marvin was alive. The people in charge don't understand the job past what they see on paper.

    Advice to Management

    Go back to slinging water.

Work load is somewhat manageable and the product line is nationally known. Lots of freedom in the job. Management isn’t looking over your shoulder

    Cons

Doesn’t push their product enough to make a difference in the market. Very frustrating. Use of personal vehicle is poorly compensated
