I worked at Schwartz Brothers Restaurants (Less than a year)

    Pros

Manager and Co-workers were almost all great to work with. They knew what they were doing and gave helpful advice and constructive criticism and feedback.

    Cons

Occasionally really busy and stressful working environment because the customers expect a lot out of the restaurant and will be sassy and difficult.

    Advice to Management

For the most part, no real advice. Management could do a little better to train front of house staff with some of the physically demanding and coordination demanding work responsibilities. I would suggest more breaks but that is not realistic in the restaurant business.

  2. "Decent place, though management wasn't as on point as they should've been."

I worked at Schwartz Brothers Restaurants full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great food and atmosphere, pay, and benefits. Overall a fun team to work with, great relationship between front and back of house.

    Cons

There was a lot of talk about what's going wrong, not enough fixing it or helping people stay on track. Staff could use better direction. Teamwork levels ranged from good to scattered and unorganized.

    Advice to Management

Managers could be better at leading their team; helping out when needed, or finding and enacting a solution when things need fixing instead of just talking about the problem and hoping it will fix itself.

I worked at Schwartz Brothers Restaurants full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great pay, scheduling and standards for employment. Overall good management.

    Cons

Employees complain ALOT. Food is very over priced and wages among employees seemed to be unfair.

    Advice to Management

Steve was the only manager that didnt seem to care about the employees. Especially the ones who had been there for years. All the other managers were caring, smart and did a amazing job.

I have been working at Schwartz Brothers Restaurants full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

money, if you do not care about your job, your guests or making the place better for all, you can make good money, but that is it, very seasonal

    Cons

Bad management from the very top down, sporadic policies, nonexistent training program, just a milking cow for the ownership, get more spend less, always understaffed with an expectation of good performance, not a fine steakhouse anymore, sad

    Advice to Management

get some standards not just on paper but in every aspect of the operation

    Pros

Large, family run company with much care for their employees. Great pay and incentives with room to grow in the company.

    Cons

Extremely high standards across all restaurants. There's no cutting corners in this work environment. Poor communication at times.

    Pros

The discounts that you receive at the restaurants are great, and they take very good care of their employees and families when they are out to dinner, happyhour, whatever.

    Cons

Hard to get a shift covered, especially on the weekends. The new servers have to take the worst shifts, scheduling works on a seniority-basis.

    Advice to Management

Great job as a whole, it was a happy experience and has opened many doors through the clientele that was met while serving.
