I worked at Scientific Games full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Autonomy, flexible, stimulating and interesting. Innovative company with talented people. A leader in fun, fascinating and evolving gaming industry. Chance to grow and advance.

    Cons

There is enormous pressure to deliver. The company has focused on growth through acquisition which means less than surgical staff reductions to satisfy Wall St. expectations.

    Advice to Management

Less Acquistions more focus on resources

    Pros

Not any as long as I can think of. You will get their variable pay if you work there for a year and that to also only 60 percent people get.So they make fool of you with the package also.

    Cons

Poor management. They will slog you like labourers. No professionalism. No flexibility of work. Only politics

    Advice to Management

Try hard to make it a employee centric Company .

I worked at Scientific Games full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pays pretty good, and a casual work environment. Get 2 weeks vacation to start and 12 paid holidays.

    Cons

There is almost no room for advancement, and hardly any training. Lots of internal politics. Company has recently gone through major downsizing after acquiring 2 companies in the last couple of years for $8B and trying to re-coop some of the cash by a mass layoff in December.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Scientific Games full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Collaborative environment and good people but I believe that it is because they are remnants of the old Bally

    Cons

Not looking at the big picture. Making all the employees suffer the consequences of business leaders poor choices. Taking even more away than what they have already taken and it doesn't look to be getting better.

I worked at Scientific Games full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The individual parts of the company are better than the whole. The company was formed by 4 companies coming together and is very disjointed and there is no cohesive structure or culture.
    Strong creative and R&D mindset.

    Cons

Too many fiefdoms, still aligned to legacy companies.
Some senior executives set in their ways, very resistant to any change.

    Advice to Management

Need executive management to layout a common vision that all employees can get behind. Changes also need to be made from the top down. Legacy executives are more often than not a hindrance to doing anything new.
