I worked at Scientific Games full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Have worked for more than 3 years. Pros were:
    1. Good co-ordination between people.
    2. Spacious cabin

    Cons

Well I am not a pessimist but was bound to post the following:
    1. They have clear plan to shut down Pune location, attrition rate is high. Irony is Team started in Pune has its weakest base now.
    2. Since merging with Bally and others , there has been a lot of cost cutting. no more spacious cabin, cafetria, outgoing benifits,No to Work from home strictly for Pune but Bglore guys have it when they need it especially the senior guys.
    3. A leaving candidate is not replaced in Pune but in Bglore.
    4. For few no bonus and appraisal for successfive years. Manager wont even talk to you for a year but would be eligible to give your review.
    5. Few good managers don't like sugar coating but they don't realize when people do the same to him/her. funny!!
    6. No process following in development cycle and would make you sweat for less needed delivery to please.
    7. Multiple people to give you unplanned work and all of them would follow up on their own work rather than understanding the challenges.
    8. All cultural activities which used to be in the past (when it was WMS Gaming) have been scrapped.
    9. Annual team outing for which company used to pay against have been dissolved.
    10. No compensation / compoff when you are required to work on weekend. Managers would console you to finish the existing leaves. Later when you serve your notice period, those leaves dont exist. Managers would start bluffing then.

    Advice to Management

Nothing!! You can't do any good in Pune. We understand.

I have been working at Scientific Games full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good Pay
Work Life Balance (if you get a good team having no pets to the lead)

    Cons

    1 - Lots of Favouritism
2 - Lack of Humanity from Management
3 - HR Team is a Joke , real joke i mean! they hear your problems and incapable of doing anything.
4 - Management will Ruin your career if you don't go as per their say
5 - Employee Benefits like WFH are only for Leads and above, set my the project management not the company.
6 - Lots of false promises for career opportunities
    7 - Foolish Leads

    Advice to Management

Try to understand the talents of the people and how they are being not let to progress just because of foolish leads, blind management and their ego for no reason.

I worked at Scientific Games full-time

    Pros

Good location and amenities; reasonably friendly atmosphere including staff activities; opportunities to move forward in the business...

    Cons

...or be kept firmly in your place and left feeling unappreciated; not interested in retaining staff, or particularly in nurturing their talents, especially if a small outlay of cash is required. Office politics are rife and utterly tedious.

    Advice to Management

    ...will not be heeded.

I have been working at Scientific Games full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are many types of positions. They have embedded hardware programming, game development, project managing, customer service reps., BI's , BA's warehouse workers who produce instant scratch tickets and many more.

    Cons

No opportunity for earning a bonus. Merit increases are low. This year, it was 1%.

    Advice to Management

Instead of just a thank you and a pat on the back, reward your employees with things of value. Things like promotions, good pay raises, bonuses for non-executive employees, higher contribution to 401k or something to that effect.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Scientific Games full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, large company, fun work

    Cons

All employees are made to feel disposable at all time and layoffs are given with no notice. Hard workers are not rewarded for their work and lazy employees are allowed to slide by.

    Advice to Management

Address issues in employee satisfaction instead of constantly worrying about company stock. If you have nobody making games (or a lot of people who no longer care), that will hurt your stock in the long run anyway.

I have been working at Scientific Games full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great work life balance
    - Work is rewarding and it feels impactful toward the business
    - Pay is great
    - People are very nice albeit quiet/shy at first

    Cons

As everyone has mentioned before the recent mergers have caused some confusion, anxiety, and significant of change. I've been through several mergers in my career and this one feels pretty normal. A company this strong in the industry will get through it but for those that have been here a long time this can definitely be perceived as a big change and a challenge to adjust to.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees concerns. Over communicate to them about changes and future plans as appropriate. Seriously, you can never communicate too much.
