I have been working at Scientific Research (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working at the corporate office is a good environment to create and produce.

    Cons

Some projects are located at SPAWAR and Building 198 which are be dirty, unpleasant places to work full time. Interacting with US government employees at SPAWAR if often a very unpleasant experience since they seem entrenched in mundane servitude to get a pension, have low productivity, and live for the time they can just go home. It can be difficult to maintain positive attitude as a contractor while surrounded by low motivation.

    Advice to Management

Negotiate remote work for more employees who can't see themselves working full time at depressing government buildings for a year or more of our lives. Reach out to your employees working at the Government buildings and associate more with them. Tell them you are going to fight for them to have telework days to break up monotony and inspire focus, increase productivity, and flexibility in life. Take ownership of your people and produce a stronger, vibrant culture that expresses originality, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Be different!
