I have been working at Scope International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing good here. It is not running like a software company. No job security. It is being ruled by bureaucratic senior managers

    Cons

From day 1, I am being pressurized to come and work on all weekends. No comp off.

Sometimes you may also get layoff threats by your manager and would face several helpless situations like that. As the policies are improper you would not know whom to approach

Though it is categorized as captive company, it is much much worse than a service company. It has huge politics, huge work pressure, less job security than any service company.

    Advice to Management

Please maintain good company culture and proper ethics. Advice and propagate the same in all levels.

If you ask everyone to come and work on all weekends, you would never retain good technical software engineers. You will just end up having whole bunch of people who just do clerical activities with very less productivity but showing off as a lot got achieved by sitting in office day and night

They should be more considerate on the deadline of software delivery.

    Pros

It is a good place to work if you are going at senior post.

    Cons

Freshers don't get much exposure to the actual business i.e. how actually things are happening.

    Advice to Management

It is a not a friendly environment for a fresher. There is no proper procedure to nurture the employee potential. My advice will to create a team which tracks performance of employee and also help in finding the solution of the problems which he/she is facing.

I have been working at Scope International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Work life balance, timings in most cases will be 9.30 to 6.30 as most of the teams works with either Singapore or China. Hence ending up come early and leave early kind of working style.
    2. WFH (Again depends on the manager)
    3. Average to Good Compensation, based on skill set. Usually the pay in Investment banking and financial markets teams is good.

    Cons

    1. People from different states may find it difficult with regional politics in chennai.Even team meetings will be in tamil sometimes, hence an awkward place for non-tamilians.
    2. Sometimes you may end up not getting enough opportunities, if your skill is unique and has to move out of the firm, if you are not satisfied with the team or wanted a change in project.
    3. Very less to non-existant onsites in most teams.
    4. You will not find any young people as its filled with Old and more experienced guys, hence very less team bonding and fun activities.
