I worked at ScotiaMcleod for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good salary, benefits, and job security. You can move around in the company fairly easily however bureaucratic and archaic leadership gets in the way.

    Cons

Lack of support from management if things don't go your way. I worked with an emotionally unstable individual and it was easy and less of a hassle for management to look the other way rather than deal with the HR procedures to deal with the over worked and dissatisfied support staff.

I have been working at ScotiaMcleod

    Pros

International environment, big bank with other areas to explore, although its hard to jump from dept to dept because management will stop you even if you get a job if you have not put in your 2 years

    Cons

payscale to competitors is a quite a difference (on the low side), again mentioned above, hard to move to diff positions, even if you get it, management might stop it, because in your contract it says that you have you put in 1 yr minimum and 1yr on your manager's discretion.

    I worked at ScotiaMcleod

    Pros

Dynamics of capital markets, fast pace, quick brains, above average work ethics

    Cons

Hugely underpaid role for the boat load of responsibility. Next to nothing growth opportunity as admin associate within the advisory office.

I have been working at ScotiaMcleod

    Pros

Not overly micromanaged, and support staff are friendly. Advisors can theoretically make any amount of money (pro and con obviously)

    Cons

System designed to push out some advisors to the benefit of other advisors who pick up your old clients. Advisors are paid different percentages based on total production, with little to arguably negative reinforcement for smaller but faster growing advisors
