    Pros

    Decent compensation and benefits package

    Cons

    Very few women in management.....
Sexist - Just look at the last Preparing For the Future Document and notice all are men except one woman. The men are all directors, Sr. Directors, VPs, Etc., and the woman is an assistant controller. .
Look at the other upper management positions.... ALL MEN as far as I can tell.

    Advice to Management

If you're going to demand upper level work and responsibilities out of specific people then promote them through title and compensation. Do you know how ridiculous the Preparing for the Future document looks, especially to women. It seems you promote men to positions they lack experience in, based on tenure.

I have been working at Scoular Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of hours avaliable, rank and file are friendly, flexibility for time off if needed, sensitive to your needs.

    Cons

Hours are long, no set schedule, no set work site, no mileage pay, you have to stay on them for basics like benefits, work sites can be very remote, limited training, terrible communication, limited training about health risks, no accountability, low low pay.

    Advice to Management

Train better, work to retain quality employees, pay a livable wage and folks will make it a career, be upfront about health risks.

I have been working at Scoular Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They truly care about employees and it shows. Scoular still has the "family" feel - which is extremely rare especially in this industry. Pay and benefits are both very competitive.

    Cons

    NA -
Fast paced environment but that is about the only con. If you're up for the challenge it's easy to move up and succeed.

    Pros

    - nice work environment.
    - dynamic work place
    - intelligent colleagues

    Cons

    - no value or respect given to experience.
    - very limited training for managers, shows in management style across all levels.
    - old boys club click.

    Advice to Management

Understand why you are not keeping experienced people joining your business in the past 10 years. Your values have to change with the size and scope of you business to retain an attract talent that can help build its future. People management is a skill missing in Scoular, the future work force will not tolerate this.

I worked at Scoular Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The bus route passes right by the building that houses The Scoular Company. It's a well maintained building. Coworkers are nice and polite.

    Cons

Middle management is highly flawed. I see that there are other complaints about this on this website. They seem to get mad when an employee doesn't know how to accomplish a task that they were never trained to so. The local newspaper called them "a toxic work environment".

    Advice to Management

    Needs work.

I worked at Scoular Company full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Co-workers, love the job - very challenging, great rewards -competitive pay and ok Benefits. (Could be better on the cost side)

    Cons

If you asked me 2 years ago - I would have given 5 stars...I had a great manager and worked with a great team. New HR came in and took over - no consistency and the managers they hire have no management experience and pretty much it's who you know - not what you know. Manager from a couple of years ago got tired of no support from HR and left and got stuck with a new Manager who Micro-Manages but will not take responsibility and does the blame game. HR should worry about retention but instead worries about recruiting.

    Advice to Management

    Worry about RETENTION Not Recruiting.....
