    I worked at Scribe.ology part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -exposure to medical procedures/physical exams
-exposure to A LOT of med term
-build relationships with physicians/ obtain recommendation letters
    -plenty of vacation days
    -no experience required
    -flexible schedule

Scribing was a great experience that solidified my passion for healthcare but it is a commitment that can be difficult to juggle with school. Since its in the emergency department the hours are unique but they schedule us a month at a time just like any other healthcare personnel. I loved my providers at Baylor and had a lot of fun in the end.

    Cons

-fast paced environment with overwhelming training process
-minimum wage pay starting for a lot of hard and knowledgable work
    -burn out

Though hours are flexible once the schedule is set they are very STRICT. Prepare to plan everything in your life in advance.

    Advice to Management

Didn't feel like we were part of a team. Wish more connections were made within the company.

    I worked at Scribe.ology full-time

    Pros

Amazing time working with the doctors and being exposed to all aspects of hospitals and clinics. Gained a lot of knowledge using EMR's and regular clinical work flow.

    Cons

Extremely unorganized company with no solid structure of administration. Contracts constantly altered without notification and lack of top to bottom communication.

    Pros

    Working and interacting with doctors

    Cons

They don’t provide enough adequate training for employees. You work long hours with minimum pay.

    Advice to Management

    Get better on site trainers

I have been working at Scribe.ology full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I sit in an office all day and do next to nothing, lots of down time. Low effort.

    Cons

Was told that i would be in a hospital emergency department and was then stuck in an office, exactly where i don’t want to be.

Was hired as full time and am currently getting part time hours. Your schedule says 8am-5pm but if the doctor is done before 5 you have to leave, losing several hours per week.

Absolutely not being paid enough (minimum wage) for my level of education.

    Advice to Management

Don’t lie to people about where they’ll be working. Don’t lie to people about the kind of hours they’re going to be getting and if you’re going to give full time employees 20 hours, you need to be paying them more than minimum wage. If you want people to stop leaving, pay them like they matter to the company.

    I worked at Scribe.ology full-time

    Pros

    Decent training.
    Very nice to work for.
Better compensation than other scribe companies.

    Cons

Limited availability of positions in my area unless I was willing to drive over 400 miles a week to commute.

    Advice to Management

Better communication regarding the end of an assignment ie time frames or more options.

I have been working at Scribe.ology full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Love working in an environment where you feel needed! The physician's really do appreciate their scribes!
    -Good ER shadowing experience
-You get a good idea of an ER environment
    -Very flexible schedule
-Good with giving needed vacation dates

    Cons

-Pay is too low for the amount of work with no breaks. I understand this is supposed to be a entry-level job, but I feel if you have a college degree you should make more than minimum wage.
-Your schedule is never the same every week

    Advice to Management

-Make sure all trainers teach the same way...very confused sometimes when training!
-When someone has a college degree they should be considered more qualified thus needing a higher pay grade than minimum wage. Not saying it needs to be huge, but something that is more appealing for someone to stay with the company longer.
