I worked at Scripps College full-time

    Pros

    Like the Mediterranean architecture

    Cons

Salaries are way under market rate.

    Advice to Management

There's more than enough money from student tuition alone to pay staff and faculty more. Offer and provide competitive salaries so that employees can live.

I have been working at Scripps College part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the work life balance is really good, the company allows for a lot of flexibility and is good at supporting staff if staff encounters personal problems.

    Cons

faculty can be difficult to work with. there is a very political campus culture that affects the work culture.

    Advice to Management

The management should do more to make staff feel protected. It is clear to the staff that they are not prioritized in the same way as faculty. It is also clear that the faculty has more power and influence than staff.

I worked at Scripps College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very centrally located and managers respect course loads when scheduling. Gained experience that I can take with me to future jobs.

    Cons

The management is shaky and not always reliable. They pretend to listen to the concerns of students without taking tangible action to improve or change the space.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the student body and their concerns for making the space accessible. The leadership team is not very open to criticism, which makes them difficult to work with.
