    As a merchant seaman I'm away form home often, large employee turnover

    Offer more career jobs, pay overtime when required. Offer incentives to employees

    Nothing much. Maybe fix the door to the entrance...hard to find parking

    You are surrounded by really bright researchers and scientists conducting innovative and interesting marine science. Also, a really beautiful place to work and live.

    Cons

    Funding is not guaranteed and majority of the time you have to write your own grants to conduct research.

    Amazing location if you work at the La Jolla Campus.

    Lower than average pay with poor growth in most labs.

    Pay technical workers more, reduce overhead in department administration.

    Great people, great travel! Both of which are missed, a lot

    Very low compensation, and uncertain scheduling

    Advice to Management

    Work to improve scheduling. more compensation would be nice, but doubtful that will happen
