    I worked at ScrollMotion full-time

    Pros

    - Great user experience team
    - Dedicated employees, despite several ups and downs financially

    Cons

    - Constant struggle to shift culture from an agency (what they started as) to a real product company
    - They have essentially reverted to a start-up and are searching for product/market fit
    - The CEO is new and has strong influence over product decisions, which meant product managers were essentially project managers and did not have the freedom to do proper discovery.

I have been working at ScrollMotion full-time

    Pros

    Some flexibility regarding work location.

    Cons

Layoffs happen frequently (2 this year).
Inferior salary compared to current market.
Cultures are stated but not followed.
    Management is incompetent at best:
     - Obvious that this is the current CEO's first time at the role.
     - Inability to inspire staff.
     - Inability to define the company's direction
     - Inability to hire competent leaders.
     - Inability to maintain current staff and knowledge base.

    Advice to Management

    Improve accountability of C level.
    Find a competent CEO.

I worked at ScrollMotion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

free lunch once a month. Some smart individuals (whom will most likely leave soon for something more exciting). Music is on all day and there is a Starbucks coffee machine.

    Cons

everyone seems to have a director title but not many people are able to sell the product or hit quota or even get interest in it. meetings about meetings almost daily. sales department almost non existent with high turnover in almost every department. Two major clients paying all the bills which is a huge red flag! after 5+ years in business the company is still burning through cash like crazy. Some folks on the leadership team are way overpaid for what they do day to day.

    Advice to Management

    close up shop.

I worked at ScrollMotion part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great startup. Very creative, fun and collaborative environment. Great co-workers. There was and still is a great sense of camaraderie in the office. Awesome software platform that will eventually dominate the enterprise mobile app market. High class services team that creates great apps for big name clients. These clients are dying to have enterprise mobile apps in their workspace and our platform enables them to make their own apps. Company also made some really good hires which is building the company up. Scrollmotion was truly a special place and I was glad to be a part of it.

    Cons

Company went through some managerial and structural changes which caused high turnover and hurt stability and morale. It was very sad to see great colleagues either get laid off or leave for other supposedly "better" opportunities. The company didn't have a lot of formal processes in place and also didn't have enough resources to do the job effectively at times.

    Advice to Management

Management saw and recognized the problems that affected the company and addressed those problems in a candid and transparent way. Keep up with it and continue to make it a better place to work.

I have been working at ScrollMotion full-time

    Pros

This company is full of inspiring, fun, creative, caring and incredibly smart individuals. In my experience, everyone wants to see you succeed, and they are proactive about helping you achieve that success. This attitude makes for a successful company as a whole. Management puts a premium on cultivating and maintaining this fantastic office culture that facilitates creativity and growth.

    Cons

The typical growing pains of a startup can create some cons but for me, nothing that outweighs the pros. I'm sure as the company continues to grow factors such as compensation, PTO days, etc. will grow with it.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

    Pros

    - Smart and thoughtful people make up this company (no jerkhole policy)
    - Fun and laid back work environment
    - Great product, lots of opportunities to put your palm prints on a best in class technology
    - Leasership is accesable and engaged

    Cons

    - It's a startup, which often means long hours and all hands on deck
    - Company's headquarters is across the street from Penn Station, so you want to commit suicide when you walk outside
    - Company is overcoming the hangover of a 2013 management change, hence all the negative GD reviews, as one of the people that lived through this change, it's a totally different company

    Advice to Management

    - Keep it up! This place is really starting to bloom, don't forget to water it.

I worked at ScrollMotion full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

ScrollMotion is a rare case of balance in the NYC startup scene: authentic and approachable management, reasonable hours and competitive compensation all highlight the company's strength as a solid organization rooted with great people. Employees in all departments (sales, project management, creative, product, etc.) have a TON of influence on the direction of the company and are routinely encouraged to speak up at any time

    Cons

Mobile technology for the enterprise is still a pretty new thing. It's not always easy to get a super clear message of the product to the market and, consequently, you have to be comfortable with mixing up your approach from time to time.

    Advice to Management

    Continue investing in top-notch employees!
