I worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment (More than 10 years)

    Pros

amazing people, awesome product, the rescue program is amazing

    Cons

I loved working for the park and had an amazing team. Not all parks are like this. With so many lay offs the only negative is that 1 person is doing the job of 3/4 people.

    Advice to Management

not every park is the same therefore what works at one park might not work at another park

I have been working at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Overall I like the direction the company is going with dedication to rescue and rehab. Great perks to get friends and family into the park. Each month there are a list of activities that staff can attend for free (hockey games, museums, hayrack rides, etc.). Good pay for the industry.

    Cons

Management on Aquarium Team really brings the star rating down. They don't listen to your ideas, try to hinder staff advancement, and can be unprofessional with sharing private information about your peers. Team overall has a bit of "middle school" mentality with the way they carry themselves at work and the conversations they have in the office and at lunch. Management doesn't support professional development.

    Advice to Management

Don't play favorites. Be more professional. Create policies and procedures and hold your staff accountable for the expectations set out. Allow time and money for professional development. Appreciate your job and your staff.

I worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment part-time

    Pros

    -Discounted food
    - Free tickets
    - Work with some nice people

    Cons

    -Supervisors play favorites
    - Constantly hiring so you will receive no hours
    - If you tell them you can't make it for being sick and you show proof you will still get written up
    - They throw you in the park after initial cash register training and managers won't train you
    -

    Advice to Management

    Hire better managers!

I worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment full-time

    Pros

People in role at SeaWorld are friendly and passionate about their jobs.
Full time benefits are better than many other companies.

    Cons

    Business decisions overshadow creative direction.
Bad press regarding animals in captivity holds responsibility for continuous restructuring events that eliminate jobs.

    Advice to Management

Continue to make business decisions that take into consideration what's best for the people and animals in balance with the business side of things.
