    Pros

Good hours, tons of benefits for both part-time, full time, and seasonal workers.

    Cons

managers don't care about availability, if they're understaffed, they would schedule you on days you cant work.

I worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Access to SeaWorld Parks and Universal Orlando. Cheap food.

    Cons

Management ONLY looks at the dollar signs and couldn't care less about employees, work conditions, employee pay, employee moral, etc. The company has been laying off employees multiple times per year without a thought about how it affects employee moral. Communication to employees regarding these big decisions is ZERO. Most employees find out big SeaWorld news from the local news. To be a full time Educator you must have a degree. You must pass tests and verbal assessments. Educators staff exhibits and are responsible for the safety of guests and animals. Educators are paid the same amount as an entry level operations person with no experience required. A year ago, after raising the minimum pay to $12, thus matching what Educators make, the company has yet to increase educator pay to compensate for the drastic skill differences between positions.

    Advice to Management

    1) Fix the pay gap between entry level positions and skilled positions. Your skilled labor should be fairly compensated above what entry level positions make. 2) STOP staggering layoffs. If you need to make the cuts, MAKE THE CUTS and be done with it. STOP holding the threat of layoffs over your employees heads. 3) Communicate internally with your employees. Be proactive, honest, and thoughtful with your communication to your ambassadors. 4) Be PROACTIVE and a leader in the industry regarding employee pay/treatment. You're currently just reacting to what the other theme parks are doing.

    Pros

Good vacation, holiday vacation and sick time.

I worked at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Small park compared to Universal and Disney and you get to know everyone and become part of the SeaWorld family and develop a lot of work related friends. Easy to drive in and out and parking. Fun position to work and greet and help guest. Great supervisors to work with (Sergeants, Captains) plus HR is the greatest!

    Cons

Poor micro-management Security Manager. I was there 5 years part-time and would have stayed longer and worked full-time except for management.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing and let your leadership team (Sergeants, Captains) do their job. Very inconsistent with daily job duties and breaks. Rotate officers to different posts to keep them fresh and feel happy with their jobs.

I have been working at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great coworkers and decent pay. Always above minimum wage, even for the lower paying positions. The company does great things for the environment and wild animals. Also, John Reilly, the interim CEO is amazing and should be permanent.

    Cons

Job security can be worrisome, especially if you’re full time.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees more than the shareholders. We care about each other and the animals, not just the bottom line.

I have been working at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    • Free admission to SeaWorld and Busch Gardens (12 comp tickets per year). • 30% discount for employees and 40% over Christmas • Flexible schedule. • Nice co-workers. • EXTREMELY relaxed environment (half of the time) to the point of boredom. • Good for a first job

    Cons

    • You get no hours (24 hours weekly max during high-season). • When low-season hits you barely get any days scheduled to work (sometimes only 1 day a week). • No overtime EVER. • If they aren't making enough money the day you are working, they'll send you home and you can't say anything about it. • Absolutely no help whatsoever to grow within the company SPECIALLY if you are in Merchandise (even if you have a degree). • Next to zero chances to become full-time. • Hostile guests. • Since almost everyone is part-time you get zero benefits (health, etc.).

    Advice to Management

Not sure if Management knows what's going on, they don't seem to connect with guests to the point of the park being almost empty during the week. Merchandise Leads are super nice and will help you out as needed, they are doing the best they can with what they have. HR needs to help employees at least interview for positions before turning them down (even when they have all the requirements needed). If you are going to charge guests for paper bags because we are "helping the environment", then don't purchase everything wrapped in plastic that we can't recycle! A little hypocrite if you ask me. All in all, the park is cool, and the festivals are as well, hope it lasts enough to see improvement.

I have been working at SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of paid time off if you have full time employment. Sick, vacation, and optional holiday.

    Cons

Not everyone is offered full time employment. They normally start out employees as 6 month seasonal in order to avoid needing to offer benefits.

    Advice to Management

Have company standards for when pay scales are reviewed. My department/position is using pay rates that were developed about a decade ago; both the minimum wage and standard of living costs have adjusted greatly since then.
