I have been working at Seagate Technology as an intern

    Pros

Not micro managed, so you have flexibility. But they expect you to get your work done.

    Cons

There could be more networking events, this isn't a huge deal but maybe with an event with also non intern managers.

    Advice to Management

The quality of laptops was disappointing for a tech company.

I have been working at Seagate Technology as an intern

    Pros

The people are very nice and make the day go by smoothly. Management treats employees well. As an intern, I feel welcome and appreciated.

    Cons

There aren't very many downsides to working here. There isn't a ton of structure,so if you're a person who wants structure, this may not be the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Continue making your employees feel welcome and appreciated.

I have been working at Seagate Technology as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed, communicative environment. Value placed in physical and mental health and work/life balance. Great intern program with fun events (free food, go karts, mini golf, etc) and info sessions that provides useful information about different sectors of the company.

    Cons

Not the most inviting offices. Upper management seems to not be very knowledgeable at what happens at the ground level.

I worked at Seagate Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The technical team is truly world-class capable. They work well as a team of experts. If you are qualified, this is a great place to continue to grow in knowledge and contribute.

    Cons

Everyone works very hard, which is not necessarily an issue, if you are also motivated and work hard. It is understandably hard to get in.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time.

I have been working at Seagate Technology full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, decent work-life balance. Pay is very competitive. HDD's are a very mature technology but that also means each improvement requires very challenging engineering problems to be solved. Not a military/government/medical product so there are not regulation hurdles that prevent some the newest and most exotic tech.

    Cons

Company spends a lot of time convincing employees of a stable business which in itself is troubling; especially given the amount of recent layoffs and site closures.
No clear long term path to address markets outside of spinning disk. There are some 'big company' business process headaches.

    Advice to Management

Find a long term plan to address (the eventual) decline of spinning disk markets.
