Great place to work
May 18, 2023 - Sr. Administrative Assistant in Bothell, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
As an employee of Seagen, I can confidently say that this is a company that truly values its employees and is committed to making a difference in the lives of patients. The work environment is collaborative, innovative, and supportive, with a real focus on teamwork and achieving shared goals. The leadership team is accessible, transparent, and genuinely cares about the well-being of their employees. The company culture is one of continuous learning and growth, with ample opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Overall, I feel fortunate to work for Seagen and am proud to be part of a team that is making a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.
Cons
One of the potential cons is the pending acquisition by Pfizer. While this acquisition presents opportunities for growth and expansion, it also brings a level of uncertainty and potential disruption to the company culture and operations. The acquisition process may lead to changes in leadership, organizational structure, and company direction, which can create some discomfort and uncertainty for employees. Additionally, the acquisition may result in changes to the company's compensation and benefits packages, which could impact employee morale. While the acquisition is not necessarily a negative thing, the potential for disruption and uncertainty is something that employees should be aware of.

Great company culture
May 2, 2023 - Associate Medical Director in Bothell, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Seagen has a supportive, welcoming and friendly company culture. The vast majority of people on my teams are smart, dedicated and enthusiastic. Upper management people are approachable and for the most part available. While the merger with Pfizer will open many opportunities for Seagen's employees, I am sad that the unique company culture at Seagen will likely be gone.
Cons
Typical limitations of a mid-size company: decision-making is unclear at times; career development is lacking in some areas; standardization of processes lags behind the company's rapid growth in the last few years.

Lies, lies and more lies.
May 26, 2023 - Senior Scientist in Bothell, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
They have the financial resources to be a top notch research organization.
Cons
The research leadership is close minded, makes promises they don’t keep and treats their lab workers like trash. Aside from their linker technology, their ideas’ originate from existing patents as the company is to fearful to try to develop something actually novel.

Good company culture, still needs some improvement
Oct 22, 2022 - Data ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Seagen is a company that truly cares about its employees! It may not be perfect, like any partner/relationship, but it does so many things right. Good benefits (RSUs and stock options; TWO weeks a year off when the company closes on top of your vacation; generous maternity leave; food trucks; employee appreciation events; yearly bonuses; etc.) and truly a group of people that care deeply about the work they do and finding cancer drugs for patients. I love the people I work with. They are caring and professional.
Cons
Salaries could be a bit more competitive. Seattle is extremely expensive. You cannot feed a family or save for college based on RSUs and stock options. I would gladly reduce those benefits for a higher base salary. Also, some of our processes and procedures are very manual. We need to make our processes way more efficient. Lastly, the company has been growing tremendously over the last few years. The growing pains are palpable. I am burned out from too many people leaving and having to train so many new folks. The contractors often have a hard time adjusting to the way we do things here, which makes it more challenging.
