I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of potential. Great products. Excellent people who have worked in the trenches for years.

    Cons

Employees being over worked and under appreciated. Make goals or you lose your job.

    Advice to Management

Be realistic on goals and expectations. Just because you "say" something doesn't mean it is possible or realistic. You have cut beyond "lean" - now anorexic and you expect those left to do the work of all those heads you cut. They were good employees.

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The have an expensive cafeteria in the office. People are nice and friendly but they just complain a lot. The sales team is great.

    Cons

Management doesn't have a clue, lack of innovation, work life balance is unfair. You never get the bonus they say you get because they only pay out 50-70% because they set unrealistic company goals.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your people

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Sealed Air has a global presence and skilled workforce with great experience.

    Cons

Constant organizational changes and restructuring. The possible sale of one or both sides of the company has left employees uncertain if they will have a position in the future.

    Advice to Management

The Sealed Air brand has lost value in the market and Customer Service needs to be improved.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

New hire wages and decent benefits. New campus being built. A lot of decent people to work with. Not much else.

    Cons

Relocation wages lower than new hires with no experience. Management is ridiculous. No respect for relocated employees knowledge. No employee backing by HR.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and hear and act upon their feedback.

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation (More than a year)

    Pros

    Family atmosphere
    Flexible
Shinny new expensive state of the art building in Charlotte, with aggravating "open concept" and no desk to call home.

    Cons

Technology and plants are severely outdated. Red tape is everywhere in terms of not being able to beat competitors in terms of cost, speed to market, and quality.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people actually doing the work. Stop ignoring employees who do not have a masters. You are a packaging company- not a meat company. So hire packaging engineers, chem E's, etc. NOT meat science people and then try to teach them the properties of polymers.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent work hours. The job is easy when you learn it.

    Cons

Management is terrible, and you will always be wrong. If you get offered a job for Diversey Customer Service, do not take the job unless you are desperate or just need a TEMPORARY starting position. Human Resources will never take your side because Management is always right, especially when they are wrong.

The organization of the entire company is a mess.

    Advice to Management

Screen better people and treat all employees with respect.

    Pros

Fairly steady work, was there for about 7 years and made some good friends

    Cons

Management, from the floor up to the head boss seems to go out of there way to make you feel worthless, also a very racist atmosphere, the way they treat the minorities who work on the floor is terrible.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees like humans, they are the ONLY reason the place didn't get shut down years ago. Give them profit sharing already, everyone else gets its

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The first few years were a great experience. Great Team atmosphere, good training, Great People. Career possibilities seemed positive.

    Cons

Pending move of Corporate Office to Charlotte has devastated the department, overwhelmed the remaining CCC's and training of new hires is an impossible task. Work load is overwhelming, and Management of transition is deplorable. Performance reviews are biased and raises do not even meet cost of living increases. No room at all for Career advancement because lack of experienced CCC's remaining. Treatment of employees transitioning outside Sealed Air is less than professional. Bad situation right now.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the employees who are transitioning to Charlotte. Compensate them for their experience and dedication. They are not just a number. I would not offer any further advice to management because it would fall on deaf ears.
