I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Training is the best I have had at a job. Work hours are good, flexibile work from home, Diversey is always growing and hiring, management does not micromanage.

    Cons

No bonuses, stressful at times, not everyone works as hard as others.

    Advice to Management

You have good employees and bad employees. Spend more time on the good ones.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

New hire wages and decent benefits. New campus being built. A lot of decent people to work with. Not much else.

    Cons

Relocation wages lower than new hires with no experience. Management is ridiculous. No respect for relocated employees knowledge. No employee backing by HR.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees and hear and act upon their feedback.

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation (More than a year)

    Pros

    Family atmosphere
    Flexible
Shinny new expensive state of the art building in Charlotte, with aggravating "open concept" and no desk to call home.

    Cons

Technology and plants are severely outdated. Red tape is everywhere in terms of not being able to beat competitors in terms of cost, speed to market, and quality.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people actually doing the work. Stop ignoring employees who do not have a masters. You are a packaging company- not a meat company. So hire packaging engineers, chem E's, etc. NOT meat science people and then try to teach them the properties of polymers.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent work hours. The job is easy when you learn it.

    Cons

Management is terrible, and you will always be wrong. If you get offered a job for Diversey Customer Service, do not take the job unless you are desperate or just need a TEMPORARY starting position. Human Resources will never take your side because Management is always right, especially when they are wrong.

The organization of the entire company is a mess.

    Advice to Management

Screen better people and treat all employees with respect.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Moving to brand new campus in Charlotte, NC end of 2016-2017
    Interesting work opportunities.
Supportive of career growth and change.
    Benchmarks industry to standardize.
Pay and benefits calibrated to benchmark of similar industry.

    Cons

Move to new campus will be disruptive. Losing a large number of experienced employees.
New ways of working will require significant adjustments.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time "on the floor" with the employees. Focus on less "management" and flatten out the reporting structure.

I worked at Sealed Air Corporation full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of Sealed Air's old corporate culture still stands and it shows with many of the long-term employees who can be great to work with. Strong brand recognition gains a lot of respect.

    Cons

Sealed Air used to be a company who really cared for their workers and allowed their reps to make autonomous decisions to benefit his or her territory but the new CEO has changed a lot of Sealed Air's old corporate culture. Yes, he has made stock prices rise but at the cost of losing loads of customers to the competition by pricing the company out of its market place. The Company's profit margins will only increase for the short term and the CEO's current plan is not for the long-run. Life for sales reps have become increasingly difficult and hostile with the constant threat from angry customers and the massive layoffs. Sealed Air was never known for paying extremely well and that is still the case.

    Advice to Management

Create a balanced short-term and long-term plan that will not only take care of profitability in the short-term but for long run as well. Listen to reps and understand what is going on in the field. Stop adding layers of management so that it would be less hard for sales reps to make decisions on the fly to really help their territory.

    Pros

Company is extremely dedicated to it's employee and customer base. Committed to producing high quality and environmentally friendly products.

    Cons

It can be very challenging to locate specific information and personnel in a global company with over 35,000 employees as constant movement makes directories outdated quickly.

    Advice to Management

Mentorship programs for new supervisors and managers.
