I worked at Sears (More than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to make commission based on credit card sales. Easy job, albeit stressful at times. Ten percent discount. There isn't many pro's to this job, really.

    Cons

Low pay (barely above minimum), hours are part time, credit card quota's pushed hard on associates. Associates felt pressured, and as a result pressured customers. Not a good job for you if you can not force feed credit cards onto someone. Sears gets $14 for every credit card application, and kicks $2 on the associate back.

    Advice to Management

Stop pressuring associates to perform in credit. Recognize other achievements. Store management needs to learn to be personable, get in there roll up your sleeves and dig the ditch with us sometimes.
