I worked at Sears full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice Mall setting. Work with some good people

    Cons

Only pay cashiers and support people$7 something an hour and then make constant demands on them beyond just ringing sales so turnover is incredible. They have cut staff so much, there's terrible customer service and everyone is over worked and constantly under stress

    Advice to Management

Stop the micromanagement of the stores by regional managers. Store managers constantly being criticized and feeling there job is in jeopardy so they often take it out on staff. Every few months a new change in policy, each either very negative to staff or to customers. Deadline for returning merchandise shortened and if the customer is one day over the deadline the return is refused even if it is to exchange an item for another size. Sears has transferred all support to Sears.com and left the stores out to dry. With the rumors about the company failing, the terrible pay, commission sales staff losing sales to Sears.com because they undercut their own stores, it is no mystery why they can't hire enough staff. It seems all the good employees left or are just waiting for the store to close.

I worked at Sears part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no positive comments I could offer.

    Cons

Home Appliance Sales, Sears Grand, West Las Vegas NV
    Total clown show...
Poor, hostile at times work environment, pay plan cuts and check usually wrong. Inept and incompetant management, low compensation, really a bad place to work. Best day there was when I resigned. Sears is a company in decline, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Get some training and find a new job.
