I have been working at Sears full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay if you make a sale. Leads are mostly customers that called into Sears looking for someone to come to the home for a quote, no cold calling.

    Cons

Closing percentage is lower than what management says it is. Lots of driving all over Chicagoland.

    Advice to Management

Send trainees out on consultations after classroom is done that day. Most of learning is done in the field.

I worked at Sears full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing worth saying. No pros at all. Just trying to reach the 20 word minimum requirement, skip this field. zzz

    Cons

Talking with angry customers all day every day. Low pay for stressful work and high expectations for a job that you sometimes won't be able to take seriously

    I worked at Sears part-time

    Pros

My co-workers were friendly. There is a lot of diversity when it comes to employees.

    Cons

The store is a bit unorganized. Not many people shop there, so business is slow. I was not trained well by my manager.

    Pros

Real strength in technical knowledge. Work with large scale.

    Cons

Low investment in everything - technology, facilities, and especially people.

Leadership is not held accountable for making huge mistakes. Too much emphasis on cost cutting leads to bad business decisions based on sloppy accounting.
