I worked at Sears (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you have no retail experience Sears is a good place to start. Your break/lunch is guaranteed. Discount is nice

    Cons

They base your hours on how many credit apps you get if your a cashier..which seems wrong ...like favoritism. Commission for jewelry sales suck. They need to change hourly rate from $6 to 8 or 9 an hour plus commission. If your credit is not good seems like people will start to act funny toward you.

    Advice to Management

How many credit apps you get should not determine the amount of hours employees get. That is not FAIR and dont even sound/seem right. Be equal to everyone. Just because someone got 2 apps for the last couple of days should not mean that person should get 2 days 8 hours total. Rhe less that employee is threre, the less credit apps. If you are not on the floor/at the checkouts to see what goes on or to see that the customers just dont want the credit card, employees cant force anyone to get it.

I worked at Sears full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Reasonable pay, good co-workers, good products

    Cons

Micro managing, negative reinforcement, some of the store managers and DM are just outright mean for no reason.

    Advice to Management

Try to say something positive once in a while
