    Pros

First impressions are great, benefits are great, entry level training is great.

    Cons

There are too many to describe in one sitting. Ever since the original owners left, the soul of the company left with them. Entry level is great but talk to someone who work at the company anonymously and you will get the real truth. If you enjoy being in a meat grinder you are golden. No work life balance. Upper management views employees like cattle. You are easily replaced, even if you kiss up. I worked here for a year in a senior position within my department and it was clearly the worst year in my life. So glad I got laid off with a 1/3 of the company that year.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be replaced for this doomed company to survive Amazon Cloud Services domination of the market.

    I worked at Secure-24 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free decently packaged health, dental, vision & life insurance benefits.

Free coffee, tea and discounted vending machine items.

Very knowledgeable staff & some are very willing to teach & share knowledge.

Great start for a tech newbie and/or first corporate job for a young, inexperienced person fresh out of school.

    Cons

Below average pay scale for Tech Support & Analyst positions.

Training is inconsistent. Training lacks focus on ticket system and apps currently in use and training time was wasted time due to lack of set-up during training. Receiving an excellent trainer is hit or miss...one trainer, whom wasn't available at the time to instruct a class popped in from time to time to check on the class progress was EXCELLENT in the explanation of apps and processes. However, another trainer whom we unfortunate experience of having for the duration of our training was just generally silly, cracked jokes, talked about movies and hadn't logged into the apps that we were training on in who knows when. Also, quite a bit of time was wasted moving from room to room due to other teams ignoring room scheduling conflicts and holding meetings in rooms scheduled for training . Well below the standard of training. Learned everything about the ticket system and apps from trial & error and from the Analysts & TSR's that were willing to help, even though they were slammed with work themselves.

More "play-hard" than "work-hard" culture. Bored and overly hyper employees interfere with people who are busy attempting to work by smoking e-cigs, laughing and playing cowboys & Indians with colorful plastic toy guns. Very problematic when you are attempting to resolve network or application issues with the client or engineering team member on the other end of a call.

Esoteric "metrics" used as a tool to stall promotions or substantiate terminations.

Lack of diversity of women and people of color. This Is a good ol' boys club organization from the top all the way down to the IOC. Most women & people of color are treated as non-factors and expected to "stay in their place" and have even been told as much by ethnically & racially illiterate malcontents.

Total lack of accountability by certain engineering teams and IOC analysts to address incoming service requests assigned to their team. Engineers will actually change their status to "Away" or "Busy" as soon as you ping them that a service request is in queue.

Lack of useful documentation with SLA's, Knowledge Base and documentation of ticket details.

Too much focus allowed on ethnic and gender differences and not enough focus on technical & professional similarities. Conversations about ethnic and gender stereotypes are frequently had and are not addressed by management. Instead these types of conversations (which have become heated at times) are allowed and tensions have actually grown into arguments at company sponsored parties and epitaphs and symbols of hate used.

Extreme cliquishness & clownishness. Not every IT person at Secure-24 plays World of Warcraft, PS-2, 3 or 4, Leggos or runs around with a pirate hat & plastic toy guns...especially at work. if you are not a part of the this group, you are treated as an infidel.

Nepotism, cronyism and favoritism is abound at Secure-24 and so is gossip, which is to be expected in environments where many people are married to, related to or dating each other in an enterprise business environment. If this were a family owned and family run small business, that would be the expectation however, a family owned and family run small business Secure-24 certainly is not.

    Advice to Management

I'm sure management doesn't care or believe they need advice, however my recommendation is to cut the fat & the slack from the top down of the organizational chart. Start with the numerous executive staff, then work your way down to the many managers that were promoted instead terminated because they were worthless as non-management. Rid Secure-24 of the immature social misfits that insult co-workers & clients alike. Lastly, ENFORCE the all your policies on harassment and inappropriate behavior. There is more to IT and a technology business than just tech...there is the BUSINESS of Technology.. Secure-24 has completely abandoned the business side in the day-to-day functioning and corporate outlook. The best advice for Secure-24... conduct a complete overhaul of your processes, requirements, staff and business plan, that is, if you can ever get your CEO and Executive staff out of their offices and in touch with the BUSINESS of running a cloud computing and IT company.

    Pros

Daily healthy free snacks and fruits are offered for everyone. Freedom to do what you want to complete your work.

    Cons

Poor management. Some managers are promoted without proper knowlege, background or past experience.
Poor processes and lack of accountability. There is no standard documentation and if there is no one really follow it. Workers are not treated fairly.

I have been working at Secure-24 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At one time, this company had great potential, but that all changed once they were bought.

    - If you are young in your career, you get the ability to touch a lot of new technologies.
    - There is opportunity for training.
    - Health benefits are very good.
    - For the most part, the company is quite flexible.

    Cons

I'd like to start off by saying that it is VERY obvious that most of the extremely positive reviews on this site are 100% written by senior management or so called "lifers" at Secure-24. Their blinded vision and continuous denial of problems are exactly what's wrong with the company.

    - Management and Leadership are very poor.
    - Empty promises are common here. It seems management has become very efficient at keeping unhappy employees from leaving by promising them promotions and future plans. Unfortunately for the employees, 99.9% of these plans never happen.
    - Quality of life is very poor. There is an unwritten expectation that you must be available to work 24/7/365.
    - Immature and dramatic environment. Facebook and rumor mills run this office. If you become an employee, do yourself a HUGE favor and don't add anyone to your social accounts. The only downfall of not adding everyone is that you'll be branded unsocial for the duration of your career.
    - Lack of work ethic and skill leads to promotions at this company. If you're useless in one department, you'll be promoted to a Team Lead or Manager in another or better still, they'll create a position for you that holds no value and makes no sense.
    - The men in this office spend more time trying to score with the female employees rather than focusing on "actual" work.
    - The ego of the sale team and upper management is almost pathetic.
    - If you are a "golden boy" or an "attractive female” you are automatically exempt from all disciplinary actions and pretty much can get away with whatever you'd like.
    - The overall attitude of people in this office is very poor. Most people are miserable and never seem to want to help each other. The tone of some emails is very unprofessional and would not be tolerated in an enterprise level organization.
    - It's all about "I" and not about "We". Employees here excel at taking credit for others' work.
    - This company seems to focus on quantity and not quality in their hiring process.

    Advice to Management

    - Try paying attention to your so called "valued" employees and their wellbeing.
    - Instead of having a company outing that involves drinking and venting about the company, try solving the issues and cut the dead weight. The following day, the problems STILL exist.
    - HR is a joke in most cases. Hold people accountable for their actions, both professionally and personally in the workplace. Enough with the inadequate slaps on the wrists and putting people on a "PIP". These actions solve nothing. Employees are quite aware who the pushovers are in the office and they take advantage of it daily.
    - Out with the old, in with the new. There are so many grandfathered employees here that provide no value. Bring in quality resources.
    - How about a competitive pay scale? There are part time jobs out there that pay more than what IOC workers are getting paid.
    - Actually "listen" to the feedback!
    - Pay very close attention to the local job market. Secure-24 can no longer get by on providing less than adequate salaries for their employees.

    Pros

There are no Pro's, this company is rapidly declining.

    Cons

This company was ran by children, managers that have bad reputations through out the Detroit metro area. They ran the company so poorly that it is now owned by a holding company and they've done mass lay-offs in the month of September.

    Advice to Management

Replace your self with qualified, experienced management staff. I hope the new owners realize this and execute on this plan.

    Pros

They have a great recruiter and the company is represented well from the outside.

    Cons

This company has very poor management. The directors are very young and inexperienced. The sales department is desperate at times; misrepresenting the company services, almost to an unethical level. Almost everyone I know has left the company or wants to leave.

    Advice to Management

Hire experienced managers and move out of the way.

    Pros

Unlimited PTO as long as you get it approved...lol this is just to stop everyone from taking off their use it or lose it days at the end of the year. Guess what, now you have no days and nothing they need to pay out if you get let go.

    Cons

Reading the review placed on April 16, 2014 is what made me want to make an account to post my review. This “review” posted on April 16, 2014. Was clearly written by upper management at Secure-24 posing as someone just hired in the past year. Some of these exact phrases in the pros and cons were given to me during my interview process. What really tipped me off was the title. “IF you can handle it” the so called “good” people at Secure-24 described in that review are the ones that never question anything no matter how unethical and have been brainwashed into thinking “handling it” is a badge of honor at Secure-24 without regard to your personal life, morals, and health. If you question your expectations (which change daily) you obviously can’t “handle it” and are shunned by all drunk on the kool aid. Trust no one.

“Everyday is a learning experience” It sure is when Secure-24 is your first job which is most of the staff here. You ever hear the expression that goes something like if you want to be a piano teacher you just have to be one lesson ahead of your students? You will learn all kinds of great things like how to make up excuses to customers and how to pass the buck and responsibility to anyone and everyone but you. If you can successfully learn these things you will go far at Secure-24, maybe even become a director or VP of something here. There was a mass layoff months ago and recruiters are circling this place like sharks scooping up the last few decent people while management herds in young, wide eyed kids who can “handle it”

Bottom line if you are an experienced individual don’t be lured in. Leave the sweatshop work to the kids.

I have been working at Secure-24 (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are no " Pros " The future of S-24 is uncertain.

    Cons

As of 9/18/2013 approximately 50 employees were laid off this week. Why? The Executive Leadership made poor choices throughout 2012 and 2013 that lead this mass layoff. The straw that broke the camels back was that the banks that hold S-24 loans demanded that the board institute layoffs immediately. S-24 had tremendous growth in Sales in 2013 but these deals were structured so that huge expenditures for IT hardware in these deals were financed over a period of years. This means very little money upfront, profit is not realized until 2 or 3 years later. Enough of these deals made S-24 cash poor. S-24 leadership did not manage the type of deals sales was bringing in. The result, Layoff's.

    Advice to Management

What happened to the culture and being good stewards? The leadership in the past valued trust and loyalty, it is now non-existent. Leadership portrayed the attribute of being Socially Conscious, with the layoff's they appear irresponsible, They hired over 75 people in the last 6 months and then layoff key employees, just to save money.... that stinks...

    Pros

If you're just starting out, it's a good place to get some experience. Interesting co-workers on the operations side.

    Cons

Secure-24 is a company that is unable or unwilling to execute to create a better environment. The flexibility they talk about is countered by long working hours to fix the constant issues that arise. A serious disconnect exists between sales and operations. Sales has no accountability to deliver good deals and simply goes for the money while leaving operations to work like crazy to deliver on the promises the sales team has made.

While some new hires are trying to turn things around, the majority of senior management are still former engineers that have limited experience outside of Secure-24 which has led to an inability to change. Employees that come to the table with new ideas are typically ignored or pushed out of the company. Anyone considering employment here should do their research and take a look at the droves of employees that have recently left. Get *all* compensation promises in writing.

    Advice to Management

Take accountability and reign in your sales team. Offer compensation plans in line with the market.
