I worked at Security Benefit Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are great and easy to get along with. There are plenty of group events for socializing and employee bonding

    Cons

Executives don't know what they want. They are controlled by the equity owners in CT who sit in their holding company and force investments and more down the insurance company's throat. There are several battles brewing between SBL executives and the holding company executives. It won't end well for the SBL people.

    Advice to Management

Make bold decisions and stick to your guns. Don't change your mind mid stream and stop outsourcing so many processes. Consultants and outsourced vendors are cheap at first and super expensive later. I
