    I worked at SecurityUSA part-time

    Pros

Very professional workspace. Friendly co-workers. Lots of opportunities for the company for growth which can mean better company opportunites in the future. Easy location for central office and many job sites around the NYC area.

    Cons

Some locations are very difficult to get to based on where the commute starts from. Pay is lower than initially expected.

    Advice to Management

Additional help to those that have certain attire requirements. It's hard to work so often with a limited set of clothes to wear. More opportunities to work different sites depending on availability.

I worked at SecurityUSA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It sounds good when you first get hired.

    Cons

They first give you a schedule then take it away from then promise you that Chief Operating Officer promises get you hours but don't. The clerical staff doesn't know what management does. They take you off your hours the day before you are scheduled to come in for 2 days and states that the client didn't want a guard but sneaks someone else in place of you but meanwhile that person already has their 40 hours and then some. They don't believe in overtime pay or medical benefits. The clerical staff sucks at getting replacement for you when going on vacation. Management is scared of female guards doing a better job than the male jobs and move up to management.

    Advice to Management

management sucks at their job sometimes you guys don't even bother to check on the guards. The owner doesn't know how to run an office and lack of proper management team and proper supervisers.

  7. "Security Officer"

    Pros

I really enjoy the spot I am at. I am not a flex guard (someone who goes to different spots to fill in) and I enjoy having the same schedule every week. It seems like that is rare within the company, as when I talk to other guards filling in for the guard i relieve they're surprised I'm at the same spot 5 days a week. The pay isn't great but it's not bad either. Also, the company hires you pretty much on the spot.

    Cons

It seems like the company is unorganized. My paycheck is always atleast a half hour short, sometimes up to 3 hours short. If you call them and tell them, they usually fix it. Just inconvenient. Also, judging by some of the guards they send to fill in, it seems like they will hire anyone.

    Advice to Management

Try to stay more on top of the hours and paychecks.

I worked at SecurityUSA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No pros for the exceptions of the sites. If given a residential site, the residents will take care of you.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime, if your relief calls out you'll be stuck doing a double. No direct deposit, must pick up your checks. Unprofessional and sometimes disrespectful scheduling and office staff. No room for growth, in a 5 year period I only received at $.25 raise. No facial hair allowed, be prepared to shave everyday or receive a write up.

    Advice to Management

No advice possible, just don't work for them. Until they realize that the guards are equally as important as the clients, there will continue to be a problem.
