    I worked at Sedgwick Claims Management Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It's a great position to start in and to learn the claims industry. The training process is very thorough. The company offers decent benefits.

    Cons

    Advancement is very difficult within the company because it is easier for them to hire from the outside than to fill the less desirable, lower level positions. The small town locations (as with many companies) can also be about who you know rather than what you know when it comes to advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Promote based on talent and experience, not who you know.

    Pros

    Fast-paced work environment, great benefits (including paid time off), diverse group of colleagues, and laid back management. Business casual environment.

    Cons

    Pay is minimal for such a high stress work environment. Not always as easy to "move up" in the company as is usually suggested in interviews.

    Advice to Management

    Address pay with the company overall. Currently at my location, new employees to the call center are making a higher salary that claims specialist. Also, training for claims specialists should be more in-depth. There is a huge gap within the company on those who grasp FMLA knowledge and those who do not.

    great co-workers, excellant benefits, especially PTO. good hours.

    Cons

    Sup plays favorites and micro manages. No training.

    Advice to Management

    look at actual take home pay and what we do for it. Have mgmt actually train new hires, not just have them sit by a co-worker. Have mgmt take course on how to be a good leader.
