I worked at Sedgwick Claims Management Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work schedule and salary. Coworkers helpful and friendly.

    Cons

Professional Liability Consultant supervisors. Poor management skills, micromanage reviews with limited medical knowledge. Threatened by strong intelligent adjusters.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of those who can't keep their staff. Realize they are impossible and very hostile to work for. Very hostile work environment. THE LEADS ARE AWESOME, but they cannot stop the harassment.

    Pros

I have been working at Sedgwick Claims Management Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great vacation time given and flex time available. Insurance benefits and 401k match are great.

    Cons

You have to use all PTO before the year as over and there can only be so many people gone at a time, which makes that difficult. No sort of bonuses given when colleagues work very hard and changes are constantly happening. Pay is average. No over time is "required" but a lot of times is strongly "suggested". Lots of favoritism between Team Leads and their employees.

I worked at Sedgwick Claims Management Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Provides abundant materials and training to increase your knowledge of the field, provides access to numerous resources to enable you to complete your training easily.

    Cons

Low salary, minimal opportunities for advancement, lack of support for employees, lack of decent benefits, very immature employees, stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

It's not high school, minimize the cliques, promote people and pay them based on experience and performance as opposed to you being friends with them.

    Pros

What Pros? None at all. Not one for anybody to work for.

    Cons

Extremely bad. I am not your friend but at least take mybword. Do not come here!!!

    Advice to Management

Replace all management personnel. Very horrible place. The director of claims here does not even have WC background. What a joke.

    Pros

The job its self is great. I very much enjoyed what I was doing.

    Cons

The management is completely out of their minds. They are the reason why I left. Things changed every day and no one could give us an exact answer on how to properly handle claims. It is a VERY disorganized company and I completely blame management.

I worked at Sedgwick Claims Management Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you work for a solid manager and/or are on winning team your life can be fabulous! It is a good place for someone starting out in a career in claims to get a start. PTO is generous.

    Cons

Work/life balance can be non-existent. Resources are limited and you are still expected to perform and meet expectations regardless of staffing issues and obstacles. The performance review and compensation program is a joke. Colleagues work incredibly hard all year to receive maybe a 2 - 3% annual increase.
