I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing

      Pros

Not bad pay for a call center. Incentive plan plays a major part in the competitive environment. This is the perfect place to shape your knowledge of RMBS/residential mortgage servicing. You’ll gain a ridiculous amount of knowledge on compliance, loss mitigation, loan performance, research...etc. This job is both analytical and customer service related. Overtime is always available. Job security. Growing company. Benefits...

      Cons

Very bad communication within different departments. This makes it extremely challenging to assist borrowers. Not a good idea to outsource certain departments overseas either. Long hours can be stressful. Breaks need to be at least a half hour each. Too easy to make mistakes as changes are constantly implemented. Hire more quality not quantity.

      Advice to Management

      Management actually isn’t bad.

      Pros

They pay bonuses, after you jump thru hoop and hoop to get it.

      Cons

Horrible management. They do not care about their employees at all. Cannot discuss any concerns without getting told "we will look into it" and nothing happens.

I have been working at Select Portfolio Servicing full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

      $ 5200 tuition reimbursement

      Cons

-The unprofessional manner that members of management treat employees directly and indirectly. -The lack of mobility within the company. -The need for management to keep people below them to protect their own jobs because the majority of the members of management don't have formal education and know that if they left the company they would have a hard time finding a similar position. -Health benefits are expensive...

      Pros

It is a great place to work. Fair and awesome management and good pay and benefits

      Cons

Current job could be done from home. They should look at work at home opportunities as I have had co workers leave to work at home and consider doing the same

I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Decent income. Knowledge acquiring. The people are obligated to be clients because their loans are transferred or sold to this company then the company has a strong and stable business.

      Cons

Hostile environment. Power abuse from management. Exaggerated micromanagement. Management treats employees like robots. You can't stop working. No appreciation for your job. People are not important for the company only production counts. Management never happy with what employees do. They always asking more and more to not give bonuses. Plus when you are under a supervisor that discriminates, that has few favorites and...

I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

It was ok pay wise but not enough for how rude customers are and how much stress job is.

      Cons

Stressfull- alot of infomation and blame shifting to agents. Was not high enough pay for the stress it causes.

      Advice to Management

Care more about agents and the stress you put on them. The agents already have enough to worry about. Dont keep making up things for the agents to be marked down for QA wise especially if it is not a government regulation.

      Pros

They pay is decent. You accrue vacation weekly.

      Cons

No communication. Training is supposed to be straight across and same for everyone , however it appears the office in Jacksonville either gets no training or not the same training. You can only excel if you know someone. That fact that your knowledgeable has no merit. They promote people who can put in a good show. You can be clueless at how to do the job but if you know the right people then again you can get promoted....

I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing for more than a year

      Pros

I cannot think of any pros.

      Cons

I worked for this company for six years. The training in some departments is poor but the largest problem has been the poor management of the Jacksonville office causing around 60 people to either lose their job or be forced to work in the call center. Due to poor management, they had to "make a business decision" to out-source a large department to India and the rest back to the corporate office in Utah. I was asked...
