    Pros

They are driven by results and follow the rules without question. They look for improvements everywhere and pointing them out will yield praise and gratitude from management.

    Cons

Their training for departments is very bad and some management personnel are very unkind. It doesn't feel like an environment that is conducive to asking questions and learning.

    Advice to Management

Help new hires learn by assigning better mentors or providing more job training.

    Pros

Great Pay for the work, some supervisors were great but that depends on whose team you are assigned to

    Cons

The commissions paid favored those who gamed the system, not those who worked the hardest

    Advice to Management

Hire supervisors based on who can motivate and lead a team, not just who gets the best monthly numbers

I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The money and stability, however it gets boring and changes way too much

    Cons

Management never kept promises. Would manipulate to get us to do favors like completing work for someone who called out. Micro management

    Advice to Management

Stand by your word. Stop using favoritism.

    Pros

minimal micro management, will hire without prior mortgage experience, intense training

    Cons

High stress, things keep changing, inconsistency among departments and locations, If you had occurrences that ruined your chances of getting a raise, no one ever got 5 percent raise unless they were in a more lenient or smaller department.

    Advice to Management

Unfair bonus structure and employees are not educated on how bonuses are calculated and determined. SPS fired people usually the same month they were top of bonus chart or if someone quit, they would end up top of bonus chart. People promoted based on favoritism instead of work ethic.

I worked at Select Portfolio Servicing full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary was decent, Salt Lake City is absolutely gorgeous. Great new hire training program for those new to the servicing industry.

    Cons

Most of upper management are 10+ year employees, who were it not for tenure, would be lucky to land an entry level job with a larger, professional servicer. In lieu of moving these people out of the company, they simply move them into less impactful departments. If you need more, look into Fairbanks Capital (which later became sps).
