    Pros

Great co-workers, autonomy in the classroom, great schedule, great benefits for employees (not so great for families as is expensive), pension

    Pros

    Great benefits and schedule flexibility

    Cons

    * Low Salary
    * Human Resources functions to SPECIFICALLY protect the college. Don't be fooled...

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Seminole State College of Florida part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I love tutoring and the ability to involve myself with a wide diversity of accounting students and help them achieve higher grades was very rewarding

    Cons

None really other than the scope for advancement was limited by the restrictions of openings on a sustained basis available at Seminole State College .

    Advice to Management

Not really my position to offer advice but as the growth of the state college continues perhaps it will create more opportunities for quality people like myself to be employed.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Seminole State College of Florida part-time

    Pros

Great place to work. There is a real desire to help students succeed.

    Cons

Some of the students can be entitled and lazy

    Advice to Management

I think even though some employees are part timers, they are still a great addition to your organization. give them the same opportunities as the full timers

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Seminole State College of Florida part-time

    Pros

Very flexible schedule, great work environment, several growth opportunities, great networking opportunities, job might include helping to set up fun events at the college.

    Cons

There really aren't a lot of downsides to working here. The only downsides are low pay and that you might not get a lot of hours if your department has a really tight budget to pay employees with.

    Advice to Management

The no more than 20 hours a week limit is flawed and it should be calculated monthly. Some weeks I was needed more and wasn't able to stay and work the extra time due to the weekly hour limit. Other weeks were also slow and wasn't needed as much and ended up getting less than the 20 hours. Monthly hour limit would balance it out more.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Seminole State College of Florida part-time

    Pros

The management in the IT department is laid back. Hours are flexible depending on which campus you are placed. Will yield a lot of desktop support experience.

    Cons

There are really no cons. Salary is a bit low due to being funded by the state. Management is a little all over the place and too much segregation between who does what.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to work as a team and stop segregating positions. Give opportunity for everyone to learn a little of what others do.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Seminole State College of Florida part-time

    Pros

Willing to work around your school schedule, pleasant coworkers, and an overall nice environment.

    Cons

Make sure you are willing to work with a variety of different people. I know this isn't really a con, but it being a college means that there are a variety of viewpoints and ideas going around. Best suited for more open people.
