I have been working at Seminole Tribe of Florida full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Benefits
    Holiday time off
    Fellow employees
    Location
    Free coffee

    Cons

    Lack of job security
    micro management
Very little growth opportunities unless you are Tribal

    Advice to Management

No advice since nothing will be done about it. You are constantly reminded that the door is open so leave if you don't like it.

I worked at Seminole Tribe of Florida (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of PTO but not worth all the other drama. Not much positivity here. No stars because the place is just that horrible.

    Cons

No parking as it is considered a "privilege". Everyone from Execs to the cleaning personnel have to physically clock in and out....how childish is that! Nepotism is very much the norm. You're better off working at BK or McDonalds. You will not get any respect here.

    Advice to Management

Need new management and culture change.

I worked at Seminole Tribe of Florida full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not many pros... the schedule was about it, working a 24/72. There is a van pool that a lot of the guys use because of the drive.

    Cons

Too long a drive the the reservations. Fellow coworkers/officers were young and experienced and were not pleasant to work with. Became counterproductive and not fun. No pension or union. High rate of turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Needs to be better leadership.

I worked at Seminole Tribe of Florida full-time

    Pros

    Good benefits. Training available.

    Cons

Lots of unprofessional behavior where favoritism is blunt and at times perplexing. Subject to tribal members' decisions that are based on their on personal judgement rather than on the overall company wellbeing. IT department is ridiculously strict with a "Big brother" complex

    Advice to Management

Management needs to start delegating more work or organizing job duties differently. Top management is responsible for way too many things, for which they end up doing half of the tasks they are supposed to. Many mundane things are delayed or stopped because of a simple signature from one person that should be able to delegate to somebody else.

    Pros

    PTO
    401K (matching)
    Health benefit package
    8-5 fixed hours
25% - 50% discount at the Hard Rock cafe all over the world

    Cons

    Too much politics.
Upper manager secrecy. Too much that affects morale.
Employees are out of the loop.
No on-site parking available (just for managers, or good friends of the managers)

    Advice to Management

You need to pay attention on who you choose or hire as a manager/director.
Be more thorough and professional in your selection process, specifically for managers. And once you hire one, you should keep close attention, survey an evaluate what they do the actual management. And listen more to your employees
