    Pros

    good benefits and retirement options

    Cons

uncomfortable work environment. No personality, uptight management presented daily

    Advice to Management

give some kind of recognition of work well done. No enthusiasm present for encouragment to employees. Just treated as if employees are a number without a name no incentive present.

I worked at Semrock full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clean work environment, low stress production type job, moderate to average pay and benefits.

    Cons

Training and management is a joke. Staff is suspicious and defensive of new hires. This is not an objectively performance based production company, its objectives are based on opinions of its employees and staff, the emotions of a minority basically guide company objectives and employee performance ratings. Those who perform above average are shunned and excommunicated by fellow employees, while the mediocre are allowed to thrive. Most employees skate doing little to no actual work.

    Advice to Management

Stop listening to the opinions of the few and organize to be a performance and objectively based company, then maybe production goals will be met most quarters.

    Pros

Good products superior than leading competitors

    Cons

    1) Managers and seniors managers are NOT receptive towards career advancements for their employees. Some managers get promotions but they do not deserve it because of their terrible management styles and NO leadership abilities. They get promotions only by kissing butts to upper management so they get promotions.
    2) When someone is no longer at Semrock due to work force reduction they want to keep a secret that they are no longer there. Why should there be a secret? You are humiliated if you don't do anything wrong.
    3) The pay is BELOW what you deserve. NO wonder nobody wants to stay a minute longer at work if they don't have to. Most of the employees only work there for a paycheck and NOT for a career. The turn over is very short. In summary, Semrock likes firing people for no legitimate reasons.

    Advice to Management

    Be receptive to your employees.

    Pros

Location, free parking. Some employees are very nice.

    Cons

Management doesn't have a clue who the real workers are. The employees who do the least are compensated the best.

    Advice to Management

Stop keeping employees who spend the day at the picnic table drinking coffee and quit covering for the poor performers. Embrace the good workers and get rid of the managers who do not do their jobs.
