I have been working at Senior Care Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not much micro management. Great team to work with. Lots of residents and family that are appreciative of the facility.

    Cons

Cooperate is strictly money and profit driven. They are laying off employees left and right. They are always threatening your job

I worked at Senior Care Centers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're lucky, you may get on a great team with an excellent supervisor; Corporate location is conveniently located to DART rail; Good place to get a foundation for operations within a business, particularly long term care. Really nicely designed home office with open floor plan.

    Cons

The overall morale at corporate is terribly low, all due to the President/CEO/CFO, who is rude, arrogant, unfriendly, and petty. He can he heard yelling in meetings from cubicles nearby and grumbling under his breath afterwards. He does not incite inspiration to work harder or better--people just want to avoid him. His energy is detrimental to the work atmosphere, and there is a notable calm if he is out of the office in which productivity and work quality have the space to flourish. Growth isn't as accessible as one would hope (given that it's a company "core" value) unless you're ok with lateral movements. Upper management has been leave left and right lately, and no one is surprised.

    Advice to Management

Those core values listed all over the place? Actually exhibit them.

I have been working at Senior Care Centers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The residents are the only thing about this company that make it worth it. They are paying costumers that deserve to be properly taken care of, and treated with respect and dignity.

    Cons

There are so many venders that don't get paid in a timely manor, and eventually cut off services. Everything from cable service, electricity, milk and other dietary services, nursing supplies, and medical transportation. It's complete incompetence on Senior Care management. It's hard to do your job and do it well without supplies and services. Employees just don't show up for work, they steal, and most of the time there are no consequences for this behavior. The truly heartbreaking truth is, residents are the ones that suffer. The employees that love and care for the residents are so over worked, as they are having to do the jobs of the slackers. I am so surprised that state has not come in and really shut down some of the facilities.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking the other way, step up and manage these buildings, pay your bills, hire competent staff. Come walk around the facilities unannounced and open your eyes.

    Pros

The residents are great and that makes the job worth it.

    Cons

Management was very rude and unethical in their practices. Managers do nothing about poor employee misconduct, the administration does not pay for the adequate amount of supplies needed to properly care for residents, and the staff is full of uneducated rude people.

    Advice to Management

Buy supplies and fire employees that hide them. Seniority should not matter if you are a rude employee. If I were the owner of this company, I would step inside this location and do a lot of "cleaning up".

I worked at Senior Care Centers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

None that I can think of. There a few good people but not many. No one wanted to help the other and the team.

    Cons

I came into the accounting department. This was the worst experience of my life. There was no training and the CFO was awful. He yelled at employees in front of their co-workers and everyone was scared to even talk. No one would admit it in the office but he was very unprofessional. I was told to hold checks from vendors for weeks. Calls would come in and I was told to lie and tell them their checks were in the mail when I had them in my desk. I felt so bad for the unethical behavior that it made me sick. I was throwing up due to what I was asked to do. Food services were being put on hold for these poor residents that needed milk and such. It was an awful experience and I walked out.
