I worked at Senior Helpers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a friendly environment IN THE BEGINNING.

    Cons

Unprofessionalism of the owners which also trickles down to the office staff. Nearly everyone at this office had very little professionalism and the owners have little control of the staff. They also have a HIGH turnover rate for office staff. Very few office staff members stick around long enough for their anniversary date.

    Advice to Management

Work on handling business in a more mature manner.

    Pros

Great team work, good ownership, decent pay, family oriented, great place to work

    Cons

On call could be difficult at times but because it is a 24/7 company it is a necessary evil

    Advice to Management

Please continue the hard work to keep our Seniors at home

    Pros

DEFINITELY the clients and their families! Every one of my clients has been so sweet and kind! Basically, you're going to RECEIVE the kind of treatment that you give to your clients!

    Cons

    Owners/Management/Lack of any benefits whatsoever!

    Advice to Management

This is NOT a franchise to buy into it you are just looking to make big money by just being the boss........you TRULY need to have YEARS of experience doing the "Dirty Work" that all of your employees are expected to do. It would be so wonderful to have some paid "perks" to offer all the "peons" that work their rear-ends off for YEARS..........Financial assistance with Health Insurance would be a terrific place to start!

I worked at Senior Helpers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Getting to work with the elderly.

    Cons

The one I worked for in Salem, Oregon went down hill. The owners are a husband and wife and it became all about the profit and not the client. They do not care about their employees or what happens to them. Once again, it is all about the profit for them.

    Advice to Management

Since this business is a franchise, I suggest head quarters starts reaching out. Reach out to the employees of each franchise with questionnaires to see asking how they are treated, how clients are treated, etc. This way if things need to be changed they can be. Right now, I definitely will not work for any Senior Helpers branch.

I worked at Senior Helpers part-time

    Pros

Can fit into your schedule good.

    Cons

Low pay, no benny's, no PTO. Company presents itself differently than the actual clients you will get. My clients were very controlling. It's an alternative to nursing home care because its cheaper for the client. Fecal and urine incontinence, bossy clients become old fast especially with low pay/no benefits. One client made me do all the daily housework because of his laziness when he was capable. I got sick of being a maid. Really think about this before applying for a job. 8 months did me in. Really, don't work for this company. I could go on and on and on......

    Advice to Management

Quite badgering people to constantly drop everything to run to a client at all hours of the day. Increase pay considerably. Many people do not qualify for in home care and recognize that. Your workers are exhausted and under payed.
