I have been working at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Passionate co-workers and room to grow within the company. Great company matching with the 401K and Health Club 50% reimbursement.

    Cons

Bonuses were eliminated so many are making less than they did a few years ago. Basic maternity leave package, no paternity leave. Pay is a bit below industry average.

    Advice to Management

Work closer with Germany to bring the benefits that many of the other locations receive in sync with the Americas. Two weeks of vacation, significantly less maternity leave and no paternity leave for dads is rough. Seeing others who work for the company who are based elsewhere receive these benefits can be tough.

I worked at Sennheiser Electronic (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are not bad. Weekends off are very nice. Spontaneous company lunches are always a plus. They do give you a warm fuzzy feeling, everyone for the most part is nice and friendly. The ISR team is a lot of fun, good people and close knit.As a company they are very active in the community, and do lots of fund raisers within the organization.

    Cons

Well Training consists of 2-4 days of HR training, about 2 hours of Product training(very in depth, and you can ask any time to go over product again), an hour here and there of sitting down with more "Senior" Inside Sales Reps and listening to their phone calls. Then they throw you on the phones and that is about it, The dollar store has a better training program. Most of your time is going to be taken up of listening the supervisor, threaten and belittle his subordinates and brag about how wonderful he is(mostly at arriving late to work and taking long lunches and scooting out early all on days the boss isn't in the office). Being frank, a majority of the issues of the Inside Sales team stem from the top down, but upper management is too shut off to even notice that there is an issue. The commission structure has changed 3+ times in about 7 months, if you dont know what that means, it means run away. You do not make money on everything you sell, you must hit 20,000$ to hit your first pay out. This is an archaic way of thinking, either they need to take away the commission structure all together and just pay their sales people a higher wage, or give them a commission on every dollar. HIGH TURN OVER RATE!!!

    Advice to Management

Engage your employees and inspire them. You have the right personnel just not the right leadership (supervisor).

I worked at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There used to be a number of perks working for Sennheiser. All of them have been discontinued one by one, with the only perk left being; it's a ok resume builder for another company within the industry.

    Cons

Management and nonexistent HR will lie to your face. Will pay you lower than you ever thought possible and tell you if you don't like it you can always leave. Most of their best and brightest do.

    Advice to Management

You have the easiest jobs in the world and you actively choose to make everyone's lives around you miserable. Shame on you. Sennheiser deserves you.

I worked at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great products. Willingness to develop new products in Germany. Some very nice co-workers.
Good exposure to the market via participation in many trade shows and access to many different channels.
    Very good benefits.

    Cons

Below market salaries. Management uses excuse that salary reflects Connecticut shoreline but they are way off considering national averages. Strange out of touch culture at times.

    Advice to Management

Management relies way too much on the product selling itself and at the same time will talk the talk about how employees are their greatest asset. If thats true, get competitive with wages. Related to this, realize that poor retention is ultimately a hit to the bottom line. As the industry environment gets more and more challenging people in the company (not the brand) will become the face of the company. Management could also learn something from the from-out-of nowhere metoric rise of Beats headphones.

I have been working at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The benefits are outstanding and way above any industry standard. Communication is open and transparent. Very metric focused which makes evaluations more objective. The company has terrific products and a fanatical user base. Very cool industry to be a part of. Not so many free tixs anymore but that is caused by a decrease in album sales and focus on tour income by promoters/artists.

    Cons

The location is the CT shoreline but rural. It's not terrible but you're driving to get a sandwich. Parent company can be slow to react on some things which can be frustrating to some.

    Pros

Great management, opportunity for training and growth within the company. Its an honest company with high quality products and strides for customer satisfaction, which is something to be proud of.

    Cons

The company changed to a more centralized business model some years back and America's location changing from a separately run subsidiary to working and reporting directly to Germany caused US employees to take a hit. No more bonus checks, less of a company culture and some employment/logistic details can get tricky. I believe these changes are temporary and as the company works out the kinks things will improve.

I worked at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great employees. Some great bosses. Some legendary products, name recognition. Great place to build your resume while looking for another position elsewhere.

    Cons

Used to have great benefits, profit sharing, bonuses etc - that's long gone. Benefits are below industry standard as well as the pay. Used to be that the pay was low but the benefits are great. Now both are below average. They will give you lip service about using an outside firm to review and ensure your pay is competitive and of course it always comes back that it is. If you are in sales, they will defer your compensation until the next year While earning interest for themselves.

For everyone else outside of sales you get no bonuses, no profit sharing - even if the company has a banner year. Keeping your job is your bonus.

Company is now restructured and more siloed than ever. Everybody does their own thing and nobody knows what the other hand is doing. Used to be competitive now competition is way ahead. Headquarters in Germany knows what is best for everyone - you have no say.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your employees fairly. Concentrate more on having a competitive product line than how to save a dollar or two by taking away pay from employees.

I have been working at Sennheiser Electronic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the best things about working at Sennheiser Electronic was the training employees got on new products. Other benefits included concert tickets and contact with recording and performing artists.

    Cons

    Pretty far from NYC market.
