    Pros

Constantly changing and moving environment where you are encouraged and expected to go out and make decisions daily to improve the facility.

    Cons

Long days can be a con to some. There are not any other cons as the people and environment is very collaborative and healthy relationships make everyone accomplish more.

    Advice to Management

Keep delivering goals and allowing your people the tools to achieve them!

I worked at Sensient Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Money. They paid well but not that great. Annual raises were minuscule and they were not generous with bonuses.

    Cons

I spent more than 10 years with Sensient and these favorable reviews do NOT reflect the company I worked for all those years. The company I worked for was fine if you didn't mind be over-supervised, denigrated and treated very poorly. They pay well because they couldn't retain quality personnel otherwise. Over a period of 5 years, every quality person (sales, manufacturing, customer service, even clerical) left for other pursuits and none has said they were not happier. Be careful of these favorable reviews, They don't reflect reality and are probably "plants" by a very duplicious management team

    Advice to Management

    They don't listen to anyone.

    Pros

Great company with excellent management. Very structured and professional.

    Cons

Travel expectations in sales can limit internal growth.

    Advice to Management

Quality visits with customers surpasses quantity. Otherwise, this is a wonderful company to work for.

I worked at Sensient Technologies (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay and excellent benefits package

    Cons

Management in the plant needs to improve communication between each other and give all employees a chance to prove skills

    Advice to Management

    Communicate with each shift better.

I have been working at Sensient Technologies full-time

    Pros

Enjoy having a year round job where, there is plenty of work and hardly any lay offs.

    Cons

My current schedule is on relief shift with Thursday and Friday off, it takes a while to get used to it and many people don't like it.

    Advice to Management

Relief shift is necessary to have other employees have their days off but there should be more employees available when others get injured so employees wont have to work without having a day off

I worked at Sensient Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Pretty good pay.
    Don't have to do much.
    Free snacks.
    Racially diverse environment.
We all hated the place together.

    Cons

Health insurance doesn't cover birth control; other policies possibly discriminatory to women are present.
Uptight dress code - business formal. They mean it - suit and tie every day including Fridays.
Higher management seems extremely dense and hard to reach, almost like they are actively trying to un-hear what you're saying to them about process improvements and issues that need their input to resolve.
Culture of fear - most of the time people more worried about properly covering their rear end than doing any work of value.
Patriarchal culture - wouldn't be surprised if there was a big gender gap in pay too.
Culture of mediocrity - no need to do anything better than average. Going above and beyond is punished.
No training - you are trained on the job, but it's up to your manager how you are trained. Some get lucky and have a few sessions with their manager; others get nothing and are blamed when things go wrong.
High turnover causes a "blind-leading-the-blind" mentality. The company has problems keeping people for good reason - see the other reviews.
Operating procedures and job guides are basically non-existent in the corporate flavors division.
Negative attitudes from coworkers. In a lot of cases it's "you give us work, we'll give you hell."
No bonuses for rank & file staff.
The best performers, rather than the best leaders, are promoted. Or you can get promoted by knowing someone.
Little reward for hard work, possibly the occasional attaboy if you do something stellar.
Layers of bureaucracy, but every layer is full of dense people who again only care about themselves.
Most people working there are unhappy and want to move on.
This company probably has 3 to 5 years before it is drowning in its own culture and cannot keep up with the turnover.

    Advice to Management

Please loosen up. Little bit crazy to think that people would be happy with this structure or setup - they're not. T
