    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Sensus full-time

    Pros

Used to be an excellent place to work.
For the most part, Union and Management had a pretty good relationship. Now days it is just a crazy place to work.

    Cons

    It's like a dog chasing it's tail.
No one seems to know what's going on.
The shop is totally understaffed and in some areas under supervised because the company wants to save money, because of that, we are constantly behind on orders which often puts the company in a critical position.

    Advice to Management

With the New Owners (XYLEM ) as of November 2016, we were hoping things would change. As far as we can see, Xylem hasn't showed up for work yet. So until they do, nothing is gonna change.

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Sensus part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice people, home town feeling, good starting point when young

    Cons

They have a room where management meets called the War Room. Kind of sad in this day and age that they feel the need for this type nomenclature when we have American citizens being killed in the military.

    Advice to Management

Lose the "War Room" and quit calling managers "Sarge"

I have been working at Sensus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Great technologies to work with.
    - A lot of great, smart people.
    - Good work/life balance.
    - Good Benefits.

    Cons

    - Management is confusing.
       - So many people are doing different things but saying they are doing the same.
    - It seems no one really knows what is going on most of the time.
    - Management has become a "buzz word" community. No one would know what Sensus does if they were told by management (too many buzz words and no mention of the product. "we solve things"?!).

    Advice to Management

    Communicate with employees.
Talk about the product, don't use a bunch of buzzy marketing words and slogans that tell people nothing.
Focus on actual problems and fix them instead of chasing after money with a broken product.
Give your people the help and support they need to get the job done.
