    Advice to Management

Take some anonymous reviews of Department. Also, team-building exercises may help newer, as well as established employees to feel a part of a team that is together, and focused on improving health every day. Management should participate in team building activities. Upper management should visit departments and perhaps, have a short Q & A session, inclusive of clinical and non-clinical employees.

I worked at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital full-time

    Pros

    Drive for quality care
Decent benefits - not many hospitals still provide pensions
    Never monotonous

    Cons

    Staffing issues
Sometimes changes occur so quickly no one has time to make them habits before the next change - so it feels like everyone is spinning their wheels

    Advice to Management

Offering options such as every third weekend or other perks for experienced staff would be great. In addition to training the newest staff and investing in them, do something to keep experienced nurses.

    Pros

Scrubs don't require much thought in the morning.

    Cons

Your individuality is not welcome. If you're the kind of person who thinks outside the box, you won't make it there. If you're the kind of person who wants to have fun at work, you won't like it there. If you're outspoken, you won't make it there.
You must conform or you will be shown the door.
