I worked at Sephora (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great place to learn

    Cons

Managment turn around was every year, so there was no chance for them to realize employees acomplishments

    Advice to Management

Stop switching managers every year right before the pay increases, so that you can give appropriate pay increases. :)

I worked at Sephora full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're eager to learn about the best new products, makeup techniques, or just some beauty knowledge, you'll learn so much from Sephora. Gratis is a great bonus perk too!

    Cons

Lack of growth, favoritism, overworked with minimal pay

    Advice to Management

Please learn to appreciate your employees more. If the store management showed a genuine interest in their casts's development, and not just when P4Ds's are due- and never heard of again, they would feel so much more appreciated. I've seen countless amazing employees leave the company due to being overlooked and overworked with no recognition. Put your employees first, and they will put the clients first.

    Cons

I have none. I believe they have been listening.

I have been working at Sephora part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gratis (if your gratis isn’t being taken out and put into other people’s bin), you meet so many unique people and become so much more knowledgeable in the color and skincare world.
Teamwork is always being done at least among the color/skin consultants
    Decent benefits (401k)

    Cons

Terrible management. There’s no flexible hours, very low pay, no work life balance. Management doesn’t care about your needs or what you may have going on outside of your employment.
Company doesn’t care enough about artistry just about sales ...
no career opportunities.. if you want to transfer to another store or move up it most likely won’t happen unless you are a favorite

    Advice to Management

Have managers who actually know something about color/skincare and who actually care about their cast members

    Pros

Company values and opportunity for elevation. Sense of equality and respect between managers and employees.

    Cons

No work-life balance! Elevation gets pushed back for so long. Appraisals are never enough!

I worked at Sephora part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, you get good compensation for the projects you work on. There arr many prpjects that you can work on and different teams that are always willing to help.

    Cons

Long projects and many hours spent working with people from different backgrounds. Sometimes is difficult to coordinate, and organize files but it is definitely worth it.
