    Advice to Management

Focus more on the positive, this job should be fun!

I have been working at Sephora part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    GRATIS
    401K
time to go backstage and watch videos about new products and new things being launched in stores
    contests and fun incentives
being able to be surrounded by high-demand product
    you can be artistic
    good transfer program

    Cons

SOME management DEPENDING on the store
hard to move up unless a position opens
hours get cut if you don't make your goals

    Advice to Management

If there is talent that is not in color or skin that is either stuck in cash wrap or ops, you should move them up. Some color artists are in color only because they have been with Sephora for a while, but if there is clear talent that could help the company, then they should not be limited to only being a cashier. I was also told that everyone has to start either in ops or at cash wrap before being able to be in skin or color, then my store director hired a number of people straight into color with no past Sephora experience. I would like management to be more consistent in what they tell their employees because if I had waited 5 months to apply I would probably be in color rather than at the Cashwrap.

    I worked at Sephora part-time

    Pros

Leadership tries to cultivate a good working culture. Discounts for all products, including special discounts on certain items through out the year, gratis.

    Cons

Not consistent through out all stores with management/leadership. Hard to move up in the company, and when you do, the pay scale is almost not worth it.

    Pros

-great continuous training throughout your career
    -great benefits for full timers
-lots of hands on experience for those aspiring to be an artist

    Cons

-inconsistent schedules - constantly changing it mid week without notice
-limitations on artistry- they focus more on customer service than teaching artistry that will help you with clients
-micromanagement - may be difficult for some people, but they constantly look at your performance and base your hours off that.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent and communication needs improvement.

    Pros

Able to do what you love and make clients feel beautiful in their own skin. Gives you the opportunity to grow.

    Cons

The pay is terrible. Can't accept tips. Basically getting paid as you would at any other retail job (that includes no talent needed.)

    Advice to Management

    Reconsider the wages

I have been working at Sephora part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to train hands on with different brands. You get free product every few months. First look at all the new products. Leading in beauty.

    Cons

It's hard to move up if you're interested in management. At times they could limit you. Odds are you're working with over 50 girls so that could be challenging.

    Advice to Management

Would really wish management would support there cast more and invest more in them. That's everyone from leads to even the CEO of sephora who's come to visit our store. Just needs to care more for cast. Respect for all.
