I worked at Sequel Youth & Family full-time

    Pros

Helping kids who have had hard lives is very fulfilling.

    Cons

The team leaders need more help than the children. More than one occasion I was not paid for hours served. If you do not accept invitations for after work activities you are excluded from the social group. Most of the employees have drug dependency issues. Team leaders will contact you about issues in your house or their personal issues at all hours, regardless of whether or not you're on duty. The importance is cemented in the funding they receive, not in the children's needs.

    Advice to Management

Get help for your personal issues. Focus on staff issues and be available when scheduled. Follow through promises to children and staff. Talk to and not about.

    Pros

Aiding clients by linking with services and benefits.

    Cons

Unrealistic and extremely rigid deadline expectations on paperwork and units. The management will write you up when you don't meet their deadlines or unit expectations. All they care about is making money off you.

    Pros

I loved my job. You under went the perfect amount of training. You were able to move up quickly and all the staff was friendly. Benifits after 90 days and they were not the best but I have had worse.

    Cons

I don't really have anything bad to say.

    Pros

The relationships between coworkers, being able to feel like you make the world a better place

    Cons

They don't practice what they preach. They don't teach and train, they don't allow people to grow through mistakes but terminate despite low staff numbers.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees the way you would want your child treated by a boss.

    Pros

I focus on what I am there for and see the results from my practice.

    Cons

The company shows no support, training or investment in their employees. Very minimal pay if you work in the state of Oklahoma.

    Advice to Management

Support those that are supporting the company.

    Pros

Beautiful campus. Great community in which to live. Some employees are good honest people.

    Cons

Company does not practice what they preach. There motto is "we talk to each other, not about each other." Not true. If you did not come up through the company ranks and "drank the kook aid", you are considered and "outsider" and are treated with disrespect and distant. You are reminded on a daily basis you are an outsider. Your word, work ethic, and integrity are questioned by corporate elites who may have never met you but listen to their egotistical regional VPs as if their opinions were gospel.

    Advice to Management

Hire more "outsiders" for fresh and innovative ideas and solutions". New blood can bring new life to an organization. Meet and spend some quality time with new administrators. Not just a "glad to have you on board" greeting over the phone.

I worked at Sequel Youth & Family full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The position offered a moderately flexible schedule, and ability to work from home as needed.

    Cons

I interviewed for a full-time, mid-level position, and was informed shortly after hire that this could change depending on caseload. Beyond the initial welcome-week, no training was provided despite requests. Management often misled employees, suggesting upcoming changes would provide program stability. Employees would often experience temporary reduction of full-time status without notice. Continuous issues with payroll make it difficult to expect timely payment of wages. Poor benefits.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the well-being of your employees, invest in your programs, and stick with a business plan.

    Pros

Ability to do something that matters and positive work environment.
Moral company that cares about the quality of their work

    Cons

To many hours in a week and inability to take personal time that is part of the salary package.
High turn over because of the amount of hours expected to work

    Advice to Management

Keep hours down to avoid burnout
