I worked at Service King Collision Repair Centers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, l loved my job

    Cons

Where do I start...the pay raises were obsolete and we made minimal to begin with. I had a very dis honest shady boss who came in and destroyed the whole morale of the shop. The higher ups knew he was dishonest but never did anything about it. We all slowly up and left because no one listened!

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and take notice of the good loyal employees you have. You treat everyone like they're replaceable

I worked at Service King Collision Repair Centers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed my job and the varied number of skills I acquired, I liked lots of my team members

    Cons

The company grew 3x or more in a short period of time and still operated management like the company was sub 500 employees. I was easily juggling 80-100hrs of work revamping everything from the ground up while 5-6 team members were goofing off and taking long lunches and watching football games during work hours. A year after working there I still speak to current employees and vendors who lament me leaving because "nothing works" and "nobody cares or answers the phone"

I put my heart and soul into my job, stepped up to a leadership/quasi management role when my boss didn't, and when I expressed frustration that half the department was doing absolutely nothing and I was overwhelmed with the workload I was voluntarily taking on I was told to stop complaining.

When there was a global issue, I spent 6+ months telling everyone what the issue was and how to fix it, and I was systematically excluded despite being the primary resource to resolve the issue. a "team" of 5 guys were put in a room where they goofed off and ordered lunch on the company's dime and did nothing really, while I became increasingly frustrated that half the company was begging me to fix the issue and (being commission based) they were losing money daily because of this.

I finally got fed up and did something that brought the issue to the CEO and VPs attention, and within a week my advise was taken and the issue was quickly resolved.
a week later my boss wrote me up because "people don't like you"

    Advice to Management

Realize that every department depends on the others in order to create a healthy company. Too many departments think they are on an island and departments based at HQ particularly often forget that the "front line" employees are ultimately the people who bring in the money that pays for departments like HR, accounting, Management, training, and IT.

Priority #1 should always be doing whatever it takes to allow them to do their job.

    Pros

Shop level Manager was awesome, cared about employees. did team building lunches. made the shop a family.

    Cons

Upper Management are THROAT CUTTERS. They set a performance goal for bonusing and if it looked like you were going to achieve it they would raise the bar mid stream. They are vicious and with cruel Intentions.

    Advice to Management

Clean your house of the devious staff. The idea at the top level gets destroyed during the trickle down. Your "grunt" employees are your money makers, TREAT THEM BETTER!!!!
