I have been working at Service King Paint and Body full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Shop guys are good at most as are the estimators. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

Pay scale is terrible per hours worked unless you have all the best drp’s at your location. When it’s slow you work for spare change which they take back from your next check. Have lost bonuses and had lost money I earned due to a shady lying store GM. As stated some locations are good some they need to clean house at management levels. Estimators and techs aren’t treated great at many locations. Pretty much a fill every shop with ton of workers and who cares if they can make a check and pay their bills seems to be a corporate philosophy. Advancement seems to be more about who you know than how hard you work. Hours are long and pay is only good enough when your actually busy. When your slow you would make a better check at a McDonald’s and no one in management seems to care.

    Advice to Management

Make a base guarantee/ commission pay so when it’s slow people can still eat and pay bills. So everyone at least gets $15 or 20 per hour for working 55+ a week. Set up a structured advancement program that’s based off hard work since some work harder than others. Make sure people on salary actually there job. Get rid of lazy assistant and production managers who sit around and collect a check while they make no contribution also a problem because of lazy GM’s at some locations. This could be a great place to work if people up top cared more about the guys down at the bottom who work the longest hours and make the company money.
