I worked at ServiceSource full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good sales training and low stress job - great for college grads to gain a solid understanding of tech industries, customer service skills and sales.

    Cons

Lots of college grads, limited growth, sometimes felt like a frat party. High turnover

    Pros

Great value proposition delivering real value and revenue growth for the world's largest tech and service providers.

    Cons

Leadership and change. Constant change. Lack of vision and mission direction from leadership.

    Advice to Management

Need a corporate vision and strategy to guide and inspire everything the company and the employees do. Constant change amidst lack of direction kills effectiveness and productivity. As in sports, a great coach can inspire a team to greatness. Take the 2016 LFC team for example. They clearly have a vision of what they want to achieve and are killing it.

I have been working at ServiceSource full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of my coworkers are fun to be around and most are very bright.

    Cons

This is not a technology company. There is very little investment or interest in using effective or current technology. Much of the leadership in the technology area is second rate at best.
Upper management's solution to most problems seems to be to save money via outsourcing and/or layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Wake up now or continue to watch the stock fall.

    Pros

Colleagues- I love the people I work with!

    Cons

    Pay, Management, everything else

Unless this is your only option, RUN. The company will do whatever they can to NOT pay you what they owe you.

    Advice to Management

Stop expecting too much out of people only making $30k. We are literally just numbers in a corporate world. Nashville is booming, but our pay is not increasing. Quota setting is more aggressive than ever which means no money in your pocket.

I have been working at ServiceSource full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great culture! People really enjoy the relaxed and easy going culture. I can honestly say that I enjoy coming to work everyday. I love the people I work with and the job provides a great work/life balance

    Cons

Big Brother is taking over - they are beginning to micro-manage everything. This leads reps to think you don't trust them and as a result many talented reps have and are leaving. The problem is it seems like this is what the senior leadership wants.

Need more opportunities to grow - right now it's basically management or leave.

Can't work remotely. A job like this should give the option to work remotely - at least give the proven senior sales reps the opportunity to work remotely once a week.

    Advice to Management

Don't overly micromanage reps. Give your proven reps the opportunity to work remotely

I worked at ServiceSource full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Autonomy is fairly plentiful which means one can work on things that aligned with their specific agenda.

    Cons

Autonomy unchecked is not good, especially when teams fail to work with each other, leveraging their experience and expertise to help one another, it becomes a free for all. Leadership is a bit myopic in this area and if they could see what is going on, perhaps they could succeed at a faster rate.

    Advice to Management

Transformative change is indeed good, but there must be some checks and balances to ensure teams are doing what they need to support the company vision as it ebbs and flows. Lack of attention to the areas that need it occurs often in favor of saving money. Do you really know what your customers want?
