I worked at Seven-Eleven Japan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The sales associate position requires you to do a lot more then just be a cashier. You will learn various basic business management strategies, product forecasting and customer service skills. Great for those who have little to no job experience.

    Cons

Being a sales associate requires you to be upbeat and be able to deal with a variety of people for better or worse. Meaning that you must be able to deal with poor attitudes from misunderstanding customers, toxic management and incompetent employees. Like I said before this is a great place for those with no job experience but because of that new employees maintain bad habits if it goes uncorrected.

    Advice to Management

To both franchisees and corporate stores: The best advice I have is to keep the employee interested with either bonuses, promotions or any kind of award for recognized work. From my personal experience I have seen all too often great employees go unnoticed and quit.

    Pros

Health benefits available, continue education grants given.

    Cons

Employees are undervalued and unappreciated. Too many people don't show up for work and most employees are uneducated and don't have any plans in life to further themselves.

    Advice to Management

    make more incentives for employees

I worked at Seven-Eleven Japan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are several reasons to work at Seven Eleven, the best reasons are: You knew exactly what your job was everyday, you would never be stuck wondering what it was you were supposed to be doing. The pay was great and the moving up process was excellent. If you worked hard and knew your job, you could move up from a team member to a store manager in less than a year.

    Cons

The only thing that most people hated about working here was the orientation process. There was a lot to know at Seven Eleven so there was about a four day computer orientation process you had to complete before going out onto the sales floor.

    Advice to Management

I hope you guys don't change a thing, don't try to to fix something that is not broken!

    I worked at Seven-Eleven Japan full-time

    Pros

The job provided good benefits and good on the job company policies to help keep employees safe and help employees do their jobs.

    Cons

Job training new employees while on the job was difficult due to the fast paced environment. It put a lot of stress on senior employees who were responsible for training new employees.

    Advice to Management

Review your hiring procedures. A lot of the new employees that came on to the job in recent years do not seem to care about the job duties at hand. They only seem to care about socializing, and they are not very professional.

    Pros

Company is growing rapidly and there is a lot of advancement opportunities. A lot of resources to help you do your job.

    Cons

There is no real leadership, not enough people to keep up with the growing number of new employees. Franchisees know that they can get away with a lot.
